At some point can we start to reward dewarding in some manner?

I have spent many years in this game purchasing Revelation wards and Eyes in order to counter the enemy vision / invis picks and there is no STAT benefit for spending my gold in this way....  Personally I don't much care about the lack of reward on my STAT sheet, however over 100s and 1000s of games it does tend to take a toll in one way or another.  This has been a long term issue for us VISION savants because controlling the map while balancing stats in order to "deserve" a role is not viable in many instances..  In fact many games the act of providing vision enables extended team desertion for the players who intend to win via such means.  PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE consider some way to reward those of us who spend multiple thousands of our hard earned gold on rev wards.  WE ARE THE ONES TRYING THE HARDEST.... and it enables poor play / harassment to not recognize this investment.  Thanks.

I also think it would be nice to include revwards in stats somehow
personally i don't care much for stats but i know many players do
imho 150g and increased chances of victory are not rewarding enough - for comparison for a kill you're rewarded with gold, experience, eliminating enemy player for a duration (or forcing them to buyback), increased chances of victory AND stat increase for the rest of the season

I see your point and as a support player myself I agree that sometimes it's rough when people ask for more wards when you've made sure the enemies have none.

I'm just thinking... what would a "reward" be good for? Gaining an extra stat line doesn't mean anything really. We are paired on mmr not any stat. You have 6.0 wards pr. game already tells people you are a good team player 🙂

Also, the stats would be skewed in most cases. When you support you always ward but you don't always find enemy wards. It just wouldn't be consistent imo. 

I like the post and starting the discussion but I don't think there's a reasonable reason to do any of this. 

Actually had a thought while typing the ending here. What if we had a Rampage-esqe indicator for the team chat? 
"Thessaloniki has countered an enemy ward at Kongor."
That, at least, would make the team aware and give you some kind of momentary recognizion.

I honestly don't think it would hurt the game too much to add an exp reward to the dewarding process as well. You can argue that if you step away as a support to deward somewhere, you are losing out on exp/gold(either by proximity or gravelocket).

Adding a small amount of exp to the person that gets the "kill", definitely wouldn't hurt.

But I am open to hear what other peoples thoughts are on that!

Free wards encourage everybody to place them. It lowers the support players costs to place them. It encourages support players to focus more on dewarding (as rev wards still cost cash). In Dota dewarding a ward gave you like ~150g. It's a game of vision and supports are supposed to control that while sometimes not being capable of doing so. It also reduces a high amount of toxicity that is brought into games by late rune wards, lack of vision etc. as usually mid players place the wards they want for their lane.

Obviously somaz would be too much but the warding + dewarding game is a lot more fun in dota due to the costs.
