Geomancer's Earth Grasp Rework Suggestion

Recommended Posts

Current:

Range: 900
Mana Cost: 110/115/120/125
Cooldown: 17/15/13/11 seconds

Target an area to launch a wave of grounded energy towards it, dealing 65/85/105/125 Magic Damage on impact and applying Earth's Grasp to units hit for 2/3/4/5 seconds.

Earth's Grasp deals 30/35/40/45 Magic Damage to the target every second, and also Sights & Reveals the target. The Magic Damage dealt is reduced by 50% if the target is moving.

Proposed

Range: 900
Mana Cost: 110/115/120/125
Cooldown: 17/15/13/11 seconds

Target an area to launch a wave of grounded energy towards it, dealing 65/85/105/125 45/70/105/150 Magic Damage on impact and applying Earth's Grasp to units hit for 2/3/4/5 seconds.

Earth's Grasp deals 30/35/40/45 20 Magic Damage to the target every second, and also Sights & Reveals the target. The Magic Damage dealt is reduced by 50% if the target is moving. Also, the effect places a 0.5 second delay explosion on target's location each 0.5 seconds, dealing 20 Magic Damage in a 195 radius of placed explosion's location.

Thought Process:

  • Differentiate the mechanic between Geomancer and Rhapsody version 4.7.8 more.
  • A slight buff to compete Magmus, a fairly same hero in purpose.
  • Reminiscence of Geomancer's old kit by the same name, Earth's Grasp.

Bonus

Spoiler

Geo Stalk

Current:

Radius: 1200/1500/1800/2100
Mana Cost: 40
Cooldown: 75 seconds

Burrows for 30 seconds upon use, becoming invisible and gaining 5/10/15/20 Movement Speed, as well as the ability to send tremor-sense every 2 seconds in 1200/1500/1800/2100 radius around self to show the location of enemy units in fog at that particular instance in time.

While burrowed, turned into Melee attack range, has sight range greatly reduced to 400, and is revealed if there are enemies close by 400 radius. Can un-burrow early by activating this skill again while burrowed.

Proposed:

Radius: 1200/1500/1800/2100
Mana Cost: 40
Cooldown: 75 seconds

Burrows for 30 seconds upon use, becoming invisible and gaining 5/10/15/20 Movement Speed, as well as the ability to send tremor-sense every 2 seconds in 1200/1500/1800/2100 radius around self to show the location of enemy units in fog at that particular instance in time.

While burrowed, turned into Melee attack range, has sight range greatly reduced to 400, slows opponent's movement speed by a stacking 1% per 5 units they moves in 400 radius of self with 1 second linger time (capped at 30/40/50/60%), and is revealed if there are enemies close by 400 radius. Can get on surface early by activating this skill again while burrowed.

Thought Process:

  • Reminiscence of Geomancer's old kit, Quicksand.
  • Slight buff to Geo Stalk that considered underpowered that its first iteration.
  • A slight buff to compete Magmus, a fairly same hero in purpose.

Dig

Current:

Range: 1250
Radius: 250
Mana Cost: 90/100/110/120
Cooldown: 11 seconds

Digs in target direction, becoming invulnerable while burrowed.

Activate again to surface, dealing 80/140/200/260 Magic Damage to enemies within a 250 radius and stunning for 1.5 seconds.

You can use abilities and items while burrowed.

Proposed:

Range: 1250
Radius: 250
Mana Cost: 90/100/110/120
Cooldown: 11 seconds

Digs in target direction, becoming invulnerable while burrowed.

Activate again to surface, dealing 80/140/200/260 Magic Damage to enemies within a 250 radius and stunning for 1.5 seconds, and channels there for up to 2 seconds to pull enemy units in 350 radius toward self by 75/100/125/150 units per second.

You can use abilities and items while burrowed.

Thought Process:

  • A slight buff to compete Magmus, a fairly same hero in purpose.
  • Additional synergy to Geomancer's proposed abilities change.
