  1. I am going to say this once & only once: We release x64 when we're ready. We release it on our terms, not some vigilante/group of vigilantes that think they are all-knowing & self-righteous. Hi all, Many of you are probably wondering on our progress & what happened with the donations, so I will elaborate on that here: Stripe actually has a processing fee of 2.9% + $0.30 of the donated amount (https://stripe.com/en-ca/pricing), so we never actually get 100% of the donations (unfortunately). $1 donations usually result in a net of $0.66 - so donating one time with something like $5 would actually be more helpful than donating $1 five times.   3. That statement is SO stupid that it (almost) doesn't deserve an answer. For the convenience of course. Many will 'swipe' their credit card on a donation site - none will open their net-bank and make an international wire-transer, which in some cases can be expensive for the player.

  5. There's is no denial that considering what you have been left with, you doing an exceptional work EU. I've been playing HoN for over 11 years now and unfortunately I was, like many others, a witness of the downfall of it due to stupid decision making. This is your baby now, and I'm sure with a little support from the community it will grow back. Just look at the Honcast, 1.000 players were watching the finals, and we even had BreakyCPK casting it. For me personally the game doesn't require much more polish in terms or hero balance/map or new content that much. The real problem for anyone

  7. What about after a certain hero gets X amount of total AFK per game, then they can be kicked. This would prevent being kicked from a quick afk but if they repeat this, the team can vote kick.

  11. I guess we should play around the interplay of his mechanics and his numbers first before deciding on a full rework. His kit isn't particularly broken which warrants an urgent rework. This will be a long post, as this dwells on technical aspects of the hero/abilities and interactions (as well as examples/comparisons).   12. Unfortunately, we didn't have much say for what our programmers should work on, because around that time, the power to direct developers was basically shifted over to Garena. Now, we have a lack of resources issue, so we can only tackle on the critical elements of HoN one step at a time whenever we can humanly do so. But at least I have a lot more say as I'm the director for the NAEU/International Client right now.   13. I said in an AOE (as nomads ult deals damage in a cone). I also said that the numbers obviously have to be different as those are Dota2 numbers which will not fit to HoN. I just like the idea of the spell and at least in Dota it works kinda well and fits to magebanes kit. Imagine higher CDs or simply the debuff/stun being reflected, and the damage being absorbed - it could be tweaked in many different ways. It was an option to show that mage doesn't need a full rework or a transition into a strength hero to become viable. He can outfarm every other hardcarry but lacks teamfight potential

  15. That spell works different. It doesn't do the massive damage, it doesn't return damage + stun as a huge AoE. It simply returns the current spell back IF timed properly. Only the activation mechanics are similar. Regardless of that the spell fits better to magebane than to nomad anyway.

  16. I wanted to try Grimm Hunt with Blitz Mode recently, but I couldn't get it to work on neither public servers nor on the practice server. Players don't get the Blitz buff. Also you don't start with level 3 anymore, I guess the XP requirements for that changed?

  17. +++++ I completly agree current Antimage shield is way better than hon's which would make the hero more viable, other than that, hero is still decently good against certain heroes, just like in DotA, you don't pick antimage every game, just like you don't pick magebane every game in HoN, no hero should be made so that you can pick it every game and do well.

  18. I re-evaluated the bug and yes, I can replicate it now that someone else provided a different pesrpective on it - it will be fixed next patch, but you should not be manually cancelling your spell right at the end of the channel anyway (shift-queue instead).

In short, the number of animations and their order in the avatar model.mdf should be the same as in the original model.mdf. For example, you want to replace the default Swiftbalde model with an Avatar model (alt14). Default Swiftbalde model.mdf contains 21 animations in the following order: "idle" "portrait" "item_1" "ability_1_start" "ability_1" "ability_1_attack "ability_2" "ability_2_ranged" "ability_3" "ability_4_attack1" "ability_4_attack2" "ability_4

  20. That's not on us. There's not much AUS players rn, most of the playerbase is from EU, NA anyways, so I don't understand why are you being offended? (Cuz it looks like you are). We're trying to do something good here, so.. Like I said, majority is from EU, and NA, and I don't see anything wrong in NA vs EU playing on either NA or EU servers, but I seriously doubt any team either from NA or EU would play on AUS servers, don't get me wrong though. So far, not a single team from AUS applied for our previous tournament, nor this one, but if you can gather 5 people, probably we can work something ou

  25. Thanks @HenryCase . I think actually a big part of this is also to get closer to the old "nostalgic" feeling. I played a lot in late 2009 and the years after that. I'm currently looking at @Anakondas solution. I changed it slightly to just loop over all heroes and try to generate either pog_skin, default, alt or alt2. It fails for some heroes which i have to look into tomorrow.

  26. This basically nailed it. Maps are loaded before queuing. They're not going to fiddle with that just to put Grimms back. And could you imagine the wait time once HoN has found you a game? It might be more possible to pick some peak time of the week, say Saturday evening, and have Grimms open for a couple of hours. Rotate with Devo Wars and some of the other crazy maps maybe.

The certificate is incredibly easy to get these days, I've done it myself for my own websites. The problem is HoN's 10-year-old tech stack & right now, the old Apache version does not support the latest TLS version. We are making steps to upgrade this, but it's not something that happens overnight when we have to consider stability in production.   30. Great project! The structure of the s2z files will be changing in a future patch (right now we plan for the change to either happen in 4.8.7 or 4.8.8). Just wanted to give a heads up in advance - right now, the heroes/ folder distribution isn't in alphabetical order & is done in a weird way to make the resource distribution even.   32. Nitro is weak when she play against silence-hero because Silence debuff reduce a lot of her damage. Disarm cut off 100% her damage. Nitro is good when you play against the enemy team that dont have any strong burst hero or skill to stop her from move/attack I dont play Nitro often because my favourite role is not hard-carry but i could say nitro was fine as a ranged carry heroes. When she ulti, you better dont run if you dont have any way to escape, just fight straight, if nitro dont have W to push enemy back, her damage is decent.   33. Why not? Mods are meant to be for personal use and everyone else can't see your avatar. So there's really no way to tell unless you tell people but even then, its not really frown upon. Yes you technically get the skin for free but you don't get the luxury of showing off your avatar + there can be limitations in the coding such as ultimate avatar appearance that you won't have access to for certain features like buying an item will give you "x" visuals for your hero.

I will have to raise though that making LRM central to what makes Artillery a damage-based carry is what makes him entirely flawed in the first place - unless there are mechanics in place to mitigate these flaws: LRM, as a channeling ability, may have its long range and its high damage potential when farmed. However, it also prevents Artillery from auto-attacking - shoehorning him to build mostly damage and nothing else (if to be built to carry), since most attack modifiers or attack-based procs mean nothing for him.   37. PK brings versatility to these heroes that doesn't scale that well in mid wars. Its primary use in these cases aren't as an escape tool rather a means to give him the necessary requisite to position himself cleverly to use his stun/disable in an effective manner to maximize the outcome in favour of his or hers team. The same goes for geo, and other necessary tools like daemonic.

I'd say that if you can't afford or want to engage or organize a top down community moderation or hire GMs for SEA then the kick vote needs to be re-enabled in SEA again and the horizontal axis of self-moderation needs to be employed. Sure, a few people might get kicked out for the wrong reasons but a lot more people will be kicked from the team for the right reasons.

  39. Anti-mage and hard carry will always be oxymoron. A hard carry will be anti-mage by default in the late game, if he's a hard carry there's no niche for anti-mage. Magebane is just a hero with blink and 1.45 BAT. If we're to explore the theme he will need to be anything but a hard carry.

  41. As a legacy hero obviously mana burn, blink and the ult have to stay. I find him quite lackluster due to his E. In theory he is the carry with the fasted farming potential due to his high mobility. However, facing a proper dual lane makes it almost impossible to win the game unless the enemy team fails to finish the game before very late game. Even tho I'm not a fan of Dota2 but their active ability on his E makes the hero very viable there and gives him more survivability and variety in his plays.   44. No, you are able to tick multiple options. If you choose one only, then you are right. This will make the Q time the longest possible, but will have a 100% chance you get into the game mode you did choose (Rift Wars for example...) If you however tick all options, you agree to join any game mode. This will result in a very very short Q time (even shorter Q times than midwars games nowadays as I believe more people will play "fun mode" if this happens), however before joining the game you will have no clue which game mode has been chosen.
