  1. Do we have to Post the Avatars we want for March again or will the previous Post be in the draft automatically again?

  2. Simply what the title says, i think the very first rune brings too much randomness to the game, that early on even if you know what rune the opponent gets it's simply too imactful. And you can't do anything to prevent it, imagine: opponent in mid guesses rune at min 2, and gets a: DD, now lane is over, either u cannot lane at all because of the kill threat or he will deny every creeps two waves in a row. Haste, an overleveled hero can now get almost guaranteed kills in a sidelane with no way to respond to it. Or a lot of heroes can pose such a kill threat in the midlane with it th

  3. This is a fair answer, and I do agree there's been an increasing shift towards removing complexity for arguably improved quality of life changes e.g. buffing hatchet/addition of zamos/removal of mana battery resulting in more limited starting item pools (i miss the days when 2x +3 stat items, 2x totems, 2x regen builds were commonplace, which were also much more amenable to interesting variations). And certainly increasing the number of ways a game can be played imo is generally good. I've been somewhat on the fence throughout this thread but I feel convinced now I wouldn't want the 2min power

  5. Never thought about the lifesteal thing - that's something that can be added ever since I made lifesteal work with the heal multiplier, there's practically no risk to adding it in. Yes, something like the frontal-temporary regen or frontal-temporary damage mitigation of some kind on E will be fine.

  7. I'm a Solstice, I look at the timer and the timer reaches 1:53, it's time to stack the camps and head for the river rune. I head towards the rune, the timer rings 2:00 and the rune spawns. What do I see in-front of me? Haste. In that moment I have a few important things that I look at - Short lane state (Is it pushed? Is it an enemy duo-lane? What is the HP of the enemy hero/es on the lane? Are the allies in the lane able to provide assistance in case I do arrive?), Mid lane state (Is it pushed? Is the enemy midlaner being overly aggressive? What is the HP of the enemy mid hero? Is the ally mi

  8. I'm curious to see some strong arguments in support of the current power rune spawn at 2min. I really can't think of other arguments besides making the matchup/gameplay more random and to shake things up. However, this can be a good thing in one-sided matchups though e.g. camping rune as Pebbles when you're against Arach in hopes of getting Haste/DD to turn the lane around. The question is whether this is a strong enough of a justifition.

  9. Alright here's a real answer because you got meme'd by forum virtue signalling that's essentially phony good boi-posting. The truth is you can't because this a dying / at death's door game, so the devs had to open up the floodgates for "bydlo" to keep it afloat. The reality is you can't win while playing with "bydlo" because they're extra bitter, extra selfish players who only look for ways to get ahead from their impoverished lives. Dog eat dog worldview which is prevalent in eastern europe. So, the harsh facts are that you simply can't improve at this game without SIGNIFICANT

  10. There are some easy advices: 1. Don't try to win alone. Even if you occasionally have team mates that aren't able to help you win the game, actually most of them are. But you have to find ways to make them help. That can be friendly telling them what to do, just support their ideas even if they aren't optimal or just to learn Russian (probably not ). Anyways, if you can make use of your team mates, you have an advantage the enemies might not have. Bad players are equally distributed among teams (on average), so by being better at this than your enemies, you should get higher rating (and

  12. We dont need a region locking imo. I agree with EpicPhilely. For example in DotA 2 we can see this: We can see the closest regions for better experience. I like the "Automatically pick the best region based on my location" feature. Maybe we can add this one too in HoN?

  14. Well, has it occurred to you that being Russian doesn't have much to do with your issue? If a bad player doesn't know how to play, that doesn't mean they're going to have the foresight to pick the least impactful role in the team and make the best of a bad situation. That's what GOOD judgment does that bad players don't have. It won't matter if both of you speak the language because cooperatively you're already screwed. A higher rated Russian player is going to know the simplest words that allow cooperation, even if their English is beyond poor. There just isn't that much needed to cooper

  16. Greeting fellow Linux-users, since I've seen a couple of Linux people having problems with HoN, I've decided to try to package it. I haven't done that before, so it'll probably have issues which I might or might not be able to fix. Anyways, let me summarize what an AppImage is: Basically it combines all the libraries together with an application so you don't have to manually install the required libraries on your system. It's a distribution-independent Tool that should run almost everywhere - you could even run it on Windows via WSL! Since the image would be really big if

  17. Would be so dope if in this limbo/twilight zone the game would put you in a game where there was no fog and attacking was disabled. "A moment of Peace on Newerth while we patch". Or Devowars, or Riftwars. Could create some sort of code that would put people in a random rotation of weird game modes and they had to figure out on the fly which one they were in. I assume you are understaffed and I realize this is more of an overstaffed type of activity, but still though Im gonna check back between Hearthstone arena runs ?
