    Engineer, flavour of the month?

Engineer seems to be pretty popular atm, so it got me thinking about ways to counter him and nothing immediately came to mind, just wanted to hear everyone elses thoughts on it.

What are good counters to engineer?

Pollywog can summon wards on his ult and instakill it
Slither wards can instakill ult if he gets them up BEFORE engy ports in
    Scout can instakill ult

Basically anything that can attack very fast or summon attacking minions can kill his ult/turret very fast and without that all he has is auto attack and a decent AoE stun.

Engineer is basically a one trick hero, if you remove the huge factor that is his ult he's really nothing special at all. Decent, but not OP by a longshot. The biggest thing that gets people killed is not focusing that ult, it will deal more damage over time than anything else in that teamfight, it is worth using the auto attacks to kill it instead of focusing engy right away.

yeah. there is always a big BUT
engi will summon it after the initiation. if you target them, rest of the team has a bigger advantage

People are also underestimating his ult in combination with other ults, like Magmus or Kraken.

An ult that makes everyone attack some random piece of trash or take huge damage is a great ult, even if everyone attacks the random piece of trash.

It's also a great isolator ult, since crossing the barrier is slow/silence/purge/damage.

Engineer actually scales super well too because of his turret. While it isn't the Annihilation-generator it once was, the fact is it gets 60% of his +damage items, yet people underestimate it because the tooltip says 20%. But it's 20% added to EVERY BULLET, and every turret attack fires three bullets.

my biggest question is why do they never turret stack creep camps early to mid game with him while the turret is still fairly weak. On legion side u can stack ancients with level 3 turret and until that point u can stack the camp closest to the legion base with a level 1 turret.

While not directly helping you out it could give certain heroes in your line up a nice boost in levels and gold. At the ten minute mark you could have stacked ~1200 gold and 2-3 levels worth of creeps for someone like (ult + fissure), or to drop them quickly and on there own. And atleast one of those heroes have been in the teams line up every time ive seen engi in comp play.

Attack the ult, and he's a squishy semi-carry (whose semi-carrying turret can also be killed).

's ulti attacks like 20 times or something. Insta-kills his ulti/turret.

Buy the courier at the beginning of the match. This magically frees you from the responsibility of buying wards.

Uh... Pollywog is the flavor of the month, not engi. This, consequently, has caused engi to also be picked because he synergizes extremely well with polly for pushing, and catching a team inside engi's ult with polly's wards is devastaing.
