    Team Deathmatch

    Heres the deal. You got your team fights in dota right?

    Why not have a variant where the game is a TDM of sorts. Everyone can pick a hero, and they have a hefty amount of cash to buy things. Levels, items, etc.

    They get their things together and they are in an Arena with unique terrain with trees, ramps and maybe a rune.

    So they just team fight it out. It would have just the concept of fighting and player vs player and it can totally help new players learn combat and could entice new players to stay, since fighting is so much more fun then learning how to deny and ****.

    They can learn that another time when they are used to fighting.

    mmm i think that the idea is great,
    but thinking of the stats...
    i mean, the arena needs to be really big for people to back and heal, but i like the idea.

    The problem is going to be the "hefty amount of cash to buy things".
    Because of the unique farming capabilities, lane-settings and -matchups against other heroes in a real engagement, those amounts have to be individually matched - a task which is, respectfully, insane to fulfill.

    Well it does'nt have to be hard. We could just make the idea and see how it works from there. I'm sure everyone will have there own advantages and disadvantages.

    There could be arenas that have a steady creep flow and what not. Everything cant be 100% balanced.

    The point we're probably getting to is: will there be room for freelance mappers somewhere in the futere - because this is not (I guess) about a game mode but a complete goofaround map...

    I would love to see the gametype. I can think of many types of maps that could host the gametype as well. The more options = the better.

    It would be best if you just make everyone level 16 upon starting, and give them the cash just to buy items. Maybe 15000 gold or something. It seems like a shitload, but that's about how much you will have farmed by 16 if you play well.

    A team battle map seems like a good idea. I imagine lvl16, 15k and you fight until the other team is dead, then all respawn at the same time for round 2. No possibility to exp or buy things after you bought your initial stuff.

    Could be good for a lul or two but pretty limited since most games would be decided as soon as heroes and items are bought (aka round 2 would be an repetition of round 1). Will also stab the first person that post a balance thread with an arena map like that in mind.

    I'll pick enigma, glacius, torturer, defiler and thunderbringer k thx.

    The game itself does'nt have to be traditional DotA. It could have so many modes then what it could be. But we will all know and play the traditional more. Just different modes of play would be pretty cool.

    I have my doubts that things such as this, DotA Rumble, and 3-team HoN will be OEM maps. As far as I can tell, though, custom maps should be completely possible. Hopefully there is some way to host games with them, though.
