Getting nullfire'd or'd removes self buffs like
beserk ulti, and
buff ulti. and all of
's buffs even if you're magic immune when they purge your ass.
Not sure if this is intended.
In DoTA, I'm pretty sure that purge doesn't purge off self-buffs if the target is magic immune, but in HoN it does.
Imbalance/Inconsistency?
This started in balance but I want to know if this is true.

If the skill is superior targeting and has an effect, it will work fully even if the enemy is magic immune.
Not sure what nullfire's target type is, but electrician's purge will purge off all buffs from magic immune enemies and debuffs from magic immune allies.

Electrician's effect type is SuperiorMagic, Nullfire's is empty.
Purge would remove those, but it cant be casted on magic immune unit. But if the purge spell is a ultimate (like medusas old ulti), it can be casted on magic immune units.
Superior Magic is intended to go through Magic Immunity, that's why it's called Superior.

Yes, but nevertheless this is still an inconsistency as in DotA, Diffusal Blade's Purge and Satyr Trickster's Purge cannot be casted on a magic immune unit like Jotain said.

Quickfix: Make Elec's cleanse normal magic(no real reason it should be superior anyway), and fiddle with Nullfire to do the same. Well...nullfire is debatable, because if you make the investment into getting the thing, the least you can do is ask for reliability. But that should head back to Balance, where the thread started.

Fixing something like this is not hard, whether it should be done or not is left to balance.
