so ive started to play a bit ofbut i am having a lot of trouble controling my minions and ophelia at the same time, at the moment im having to tab between minions and ophelia, are there any bindings or macros that can make my job easier?
thanks
You can set control groups.
I forget the default key, its either shift or control.
Highlight Ophelia alone (bind via key+#)
Highlight Ophelia with creeps (bind via key+#)
Highlight creeps (bind via key+#)
Now just press said number to quickly select the corresponding control groups.
Just group them all and use the tab button. All the creeps have their stun/disable on Q so: tab -> q -> tab -> q.
Easy as pie!
EDIT: Clarification: Tab highlights the next unit in the unit group that you have selected, which is why you use tab to quickly select various creep for using their spells, rather than clicking or trying to remember if minotaur #2 has cast yet; just tab + q.
This is the right idea. Q activates every creep's spells. Get creep like minotaur and catmen whose spells are AoE and you only need to press Q to cast. Bind all your creep to 2, Ophelia to 1. Run out of the forest, press 1, use Ophelia to slow, press 2, set creeps to run into melee with the gank target, then tab->Q repeatedly until you've burned all your AoE stuns, and then autoattack with both the creeps and Ophelia.

There are various ways to make micro'ing or "Micro Managing" easier.
-Use hotkeys: This might seem ridiculously straight forward, but there are still people out there that click spells instead of hotkeys, Q-W-E-R are the main 4, but you can rebind them to make them easier to access or use. My current ones are A-D-F-B, with Space Bar for my first item, Scroll Up for my second, and Scroll Down for my third. (Usually only need 2-3 active items.)
-Use the Tab key: Tapping the Tab key cycles through your selection. If you have more than 1 unit, using the Tab key, then pressing a hotkey, then tabbing back can make for a nasty chain attack for your enemies. For example:
Ophelia {Unit 1}
Minotaur {Unit 2}
[A] - [Tab] - [A] - [Tab] : This uses Ophelia's slow/debuff spell, then swaps to your Minotaur and orders it to stun, then swaps back; allowing you to finish other spells off while working on your Orb Walking and Animation Cancelling.
-Use Control Groups: I don't see the use for this in <1700 games, but assigning units to Control Groups can help you tab between 1, or even several units. [Control] + [Number] sets the group, then push the respective number to switch to it.
-Order ability queues: Using [Shift] while ordering attacks or spells adds the order to a queue, queued orders will continue once the previous order has been completed. This helps with micro'ing a fair bit, and also is a great technique for fighting with lag.
-Read guides: If the above tips simply aren't enough, there are some amazing guides out there for Ophelia, as well as other heroes.

I am an angry nerd who makes angry music in my bedroom. I also like doing flips.
I tend to group everyone on group 1 and use tab to go through them.
Or when it is really needed:
1) Everyone
2) Creeps
If I only want my own hero I hit "C"
And for the rest it is Tab Q as stated above![]()
The problem with hitting tab is if you have a courier then the courier will get tabbed into. Is there some way to stop tab from selecting the courier but cycle through everything else?

i dont need to put them in groups, i just manually click them around (;
I don't see the problem. I asked a question and it got answered. Select the creeps first, solved.it can just get confusing for the beginners when people post responses like this.
basicly what i have done is
step 1: select all the creeps and ophelia while controlling ophelia, ctrl 1
click next creep ctrl 2 untill i have all 3 creeps in their groups
step 2: next i bound z to select group 1 x to group 2 c to group 3 and v to group 4
testing it out: now if i say wanna do a skeleton hold skele may be my third minion so c and then q
then if i press z it will go back to ophelia
tabbing is too time consuming to use minions abilities quickly on demand imo
how this helps others
Ophelia has a lot of early game ganking power if played right, due to the various stuns, nukes, and damage output her creep have. Minotaurs in particular are good for this with an AoE stun, a ton of HP, and good damage. She also has a slow/damage amplification.
She has some push power and I consider her a counter to several hard carries due to her ability to mess up their farm with ganks. I do have trouble keeping her relevant in the late game. This is something you'd have to read a guide or watch Honcast to learn more about. I wouldn't consider her OP, but if she is in the pool and you are up against a team that knows how to use her, I would consider banning her.

Yeah Ophelia is pretty OP, hence the nerf she is getting late game.
As stated above, she can do a lot early and mid game. Late game she can do stun-locks (mid game also btw) and with SotM she can keep the team healed. IMO pretty insane![]()
Here's the settings I use:
1 - Ophelia alone
2 - All
3 - Creeps alone
You need to keep a mental note of the order of the units within those control groups, but I find having everyone on completely different hotkeys to be really inefficient, especially when you're using the creeps to block a hero. The biggest thing that will help you is to go play an RTS like WC3 which has a lot of micro. Once you come back from playing that Ophelia's micro isn't that hard (although it would be nice if the unit ordering were a little more intuitive).
i bind ophelia to 1, group of creeps to 2, ophelia + creeps 3, then usually the creep i'll use to go in first to 4.
So binding Ophelia to a key that's right under the key she is already bound to is smart? Why would I bind her to 1 when she's bound to F1?
TAB->Q is the easiest way of doing it. The micro interface isn't that good yet, so you'll have some trouble seeing WHICH minotaur you are controlling (when you have more than one that is).
