I've seen this done in one of my games with sym by sym quite a while ago
Basically, mock gives you teamfight presence even without your ulti, gives. Nifty damage boost, plus the dmg synergizes nicely with ulti.
Since it can be toggled off, wouldn't this be a viable choice before refresher, since even with refresher, you won't have the man a to double ulti, and this makes farming the refresher ez'er.
What do you all think??
if you can get it fast, go for it
if you're sure you can farm a mock in under 25 min, it's worth considering. Otherwise, it's a waste
in a "competitive" game, I think blink would be much more important
Since tree doesn't ever have to really leave the lane, I can usually rush it in just around 18-20 minutes if I'm not laning with a carry. Makes his ult more than twice as powerful. I only do it in pubs though.
I do it always. However, you have poor team utility for a prolonged period, so it's generally a move most hard/semi carries make. The problem is you are tree, who should be able to spam armor and invi whenever possible, making you a threat and forcing them to buy wards. Mock does nothing to let your pitiful mp pool keep up, and is anti-synergic if your team calls for map control with your eyes, since it requires you to sit in lane for half the game. Then again, eyes can be fully countered with 625 gold (courier hatchet), and extremely easily. That's probably the main reason why I simply opt to sit in lane and go for heavy farm, which is also mainly due to the fact that tree's root has an amazingly long CD, and you might as well use it via ganks in your lane rather than targetted ganks, and very rarely will more than 3 heroes in a teamfight occur before mid game (unless they are looking for a push strat).
I've seen some trees go for Nomes->Mock, which is quite interesting since it provides you with decent support, but theorycrafting speaks more for Nomes/Refresher since tree's role is mainly that of support. Mock->refresher simply calls for too much farm, as well as you require another item for a decent mana pool in order to pull off the double ult itself.
Meh, keep the keeper a support/initiator. While it's great to have him as a stronger offensive opponent, your team will benefit much less from a mock then say a refresher. Even if you will need a talisman of exile or so to give you the required mana. If you manage to get Mock by 20 min or so, then you should be able to pull off refresher as well. Which means that -no- team will stand against you.
The 40DPS is negligible late game if you're not a chaser (a la bloodhunter) and despite the fact that you can go invis and still have it, it's just a huge sign asking the enemies to use dust.
I prefer Frostfield and then Refresher so you can ult and then slow them when your ult is almost done. This also gives you enough mana for the refresher and to constantly use living armor on towers and allies.
I mean, I can see how it's viable, but to me it seems similar to getting it on say... tempest, because his ult also holds people in a sense.
It's also mitigated by at least 25%, and its not unreasonable to assume the enemy team will have either a barrier idol, a few shamans headresses, or 1-2 BKBs as well (not all of those, but individual examples). While 2000 looks like a lot in text, in game (in my opinion) it feels very underwhelming. You bring everyone down to 90% from full in the team fight, but that in itself likely won't make or break too much. Of course, it helps, but for 5150 (I believe) it just doesn't seem like a good purchase to me.
anti synergic to your first skill and it gives your position. any smart players will just use dust if they are damaged by mock. if you turned it off then what's the use of taking it
get a puzzle box instead.

Alch Bones -> Elder Parasite is way Better. No reason to rush that Mock, Carry Keeper deals more Damage this way!
E: Dist please stop creating horrible Threads. The best way to play Keeper is to not play him at all.
****in' around is fun, but unless you are better than the other Pubbies (Hint: Kirby is, you aren't) it's just bad.
It's either rush Mock of Brilliance or rush Puzzlebox.
Both of those give considerable teamfight presence, but Puzzlebox is much easier to build.

If you play keeper this way or with elder parasite i am very disappoint.
i wouldn't do it unless you can get a sword of the high before 20ish mins, and you plan on pushing nonstop. either way, if you're farming that well on tree you really should be winning regardless. this is of course unless you're taking your carries farm
