Sup. So I know 1v1's are not at all balanced, and no one likes playing them at all, but I like playing them against my cousin. His Kis about 1.5x mine, and I'm not really sure how to win. I've beaten him two times, once was magebane vs thunder (lol) and once was chronos vs dark lady. It seems like whenever I try a pushing hero, he nukes me down, and whenever I get dmg items, he still kills me pretty quick. And if I get tank items, I'm helpless because I can't hurt him and he freefarms. Anyone have any general tips, not hero-specific? Just want to know how I can annoy him for once.

If you can't win, maybe your just bad.
Oh, and did I mention Scumbag Scout?
Play scout and tank the creep wave behind the tower with vamp + ghetto shield... your creeps will tower it then switch to another lane.
Once you have the 6 outer towers down you will have such a gold advantage that you win.
As post #2 said, scumbag scout
Honestly, I've beat scumbag scout a bunch of times in 1v1, particularly with zephyr. My best advice would be to better understand heroes. Even if you get out picked, you can still easily win if you out play him, especially in starting item selection. If he's heavy magic then start with a hood, if he's a auto attack harasser, helm, if he's a melee beast, barbed armor.
The one thing I would say is that building barbed armor at 0 seconds usually is a waste, if you're gonna go for it get the armor and the broadsword to start, get some pots, and a monkey, and boots. Finish the armor by the time they get ult (which is easy since the last piece is only 450g). This will give you last hit strength from the broadsword, some lane staying power from the pots, harassment safety with +armor and boots, and the super convenience of having your monkey bring you more stuff.
There are 4 things that are super important in 1v1:
1) last hitting (mo' money less problems)
2) staying in lane (more time in lane = more levels)
3) rune control (he who controls the runes controls the world, most of the time) and
4) Bloodlust (I would say 7 out of 10 times the person who gets bloodlust wins, except maybe in the support/carry match up and after dying the carry turtles 'til end game and gets farmed).
I've had some pretty awesome 1v1's in All Random by outplaying people. If I had a penny for every time my opponent said "Hahahaha gg for you, lolzorz. I'm gonna pwn ur face." and then I RickRolled them for great justice, I'd probably be able to buy an otterpop. Mmmmm otterpops.
P.S. If he picks MQ, build hood and then beat him to Symbol of Rage, GG!
Succubus/Pollywog Priest/Panda + Puzzlebox, Puzzlebox -> Ult -> Manaburn + Rape with the box minions + Other skills (Heartache, Voodoo Wards, Flurry) = win
succ or panda cant win warbeast...
1 on 1 is just all in your own thinking, many heroes can be countered also with different items.
Against carry, pick another carry.
Against int hero pick magebane or bloodhunter.
Against tank pick pred... options are endless.
pestilence?
chronos?
Imo succu and panda arent best choices, since 1 on 1 players usually arent That retarded to not get hp boost.
Succubus is the best 1v1 hero. She can do good even in 2v1.
I don't see how you could lose to a thunderbringer with magebane... Most likely the skill difference between you and the opposing player is the reason why you keep losing. Get better?
Pick Keeper, rush Runed Axe, win.
