    What about Lycan?

The Warbeast is just as amazing as Lycan is in DotA. That said, why is he not on the hardy carry list? He deals tremendous damage, farms forest from level 1 easily, destroys heroes in gangs from level 6 (can even solo-gank from 6 easy), is very difficult to kill or escape from. He's not particularly item dependant either - not as much as the other carries anyway. Some STR and likely a BKB to defend against mass disable, pwn away.

And no love for the piggy?

    He isn't a hard carry, he's a semi carry.

I love Sand Wraith very dearly. Mercurial too..
They are both very dear to me and close to my heart.
There is nothing easier than to pub-stomp with sw.

People keep going into the jungle alone not realizing that is where I kill them, again, and again, and again.

So where do we stand after the recent buffs/nerfs to a couple of these guys? Sand Wraith is probably still at the bottom

This guide really lacks wild. If you go 2x alchemist you probably can eq you and your bear with full eq ~40 min. Faster if you net some kills. Together with his bear he has the highest dps output in the game (tdl with right eq + dd + dark blades might have higher ). He's the best farmer, best armor/hp carry, best dps'er.
Yes, he doesn't have an ulti like chronos, but his makes him into an unkillable machine with his bear

Where would Scout fit in all of this?

I've seen him used to good effect, but that's only sparingly.

Madman is thin on the line between semi and hard carry. However, mm with shrunken/berserk on can really reap havoc on teams with decent dps. I would highly suggest you put "early/mid ganker" on mm's secondary role list, because stalk/barrel roll are one of the best skill combos to gank, regardless of his early fragility. I've seen several mm's pick up a bunch of mana pots/blight or an early bottle and go hardcore ganking, some even picking up ring of the teacher (I've tried it too).

Scout is an extremely viable hard carry, and is probably one of the hardest carries in the game. His abilities scale extremely well into late game, and a farmed scout is impossible to take on alone. Silence+insta 400% damage is nothing to scoff at, and easily feeds off the fragility of other agi carries. Late game he can technically take down chronos in 4 hits IF rewind does not proc.
tdl can rip him apart. (:

yea i wondered about that. maybe it doesnt share cooldown with itself if you keep it on the bear? not sure how that would work though, i assume he is just wrong.

I rly Wonder Why magenane is declared ? hard Carry but tdl and scout arnt
magebane is Strong in midgame but Never in endgame He only scales with AS
while scout and tdl have Things like percental dmg boost and attckspeed
BTW tdl ulti can rly Change a Game it just cancels coordination and pushes with ulties like plague riders it can rly fck the Enemy

    conclusion
    magebane semi-Carry
tdl ulti can Be a gamechanger
scout isnt a Bad Carry at all

edit: stupid word-Finishing Tool of iPod :/

Hmmm. I also agree that TDL is an effective ganker and mid game carry. I agree that MageBane is a great late game carry but is truly ineffective in mid game 5v5 battles that take place. Yes the power to drain and discourage spell casting plays on the mind of the opposing team but does not compare to other carries such as Madman or TDL as referred to by other posts. TDL's ultimate is extremely effective as it forces the opposing team who is ganking your team to face a disadvantage and therefore this circumstance becomes a *reverse gank*. Lets not lose sight of MageBane who can turn games (i have admittingly seen this) but is a lost cause mid game as he cleans up the tail. This has its benefits but would you rather push as a 3+ team or allow your carry to gain an extra 250+ gold? In my opinion stronger carries throughout the entire game length involve SoulStealer, Scout, Wild-Soul and Fayde. GG'ing all.

liked the thread .. and i agree with the conclusion.. i pick mage or mad over chron if i see the lineup isn?t going to hold for that long.. and i also hate seeing someone pick chronos when we don?t have the best lineup.
sand is my least picked carry.. and i find playing against a team with sand as their main carry i?m not usually worried..

but wht about swift ?? doesn?t he belong in the comparison

I heard this is REALLY outdated

Like, SW & Magebane are totally out of the meta right now

Not only that, Magebane was only a hardcarry in HoN and he was only really a hardcarry because with blink he could move from farm to farm very fast with an RA. His actual ability to carry is far less than that of other heroes, he was just more able to hit critically high GPM.

Magebane's damage actually peaks quite early because of how Mana Break scales.
