Yes
No
A lot of my friends and people I have played with, myself included hate the fact that when entering anything less than a 5v5 a player starts with tons more gold. This is especially true with 1v1's or 2v2's. This in turn allows agility heroes especially but any other hero to get a VERY early advantage item wise.
For example my friends and I did a 2v1 last night and my friend got engineer. He started with 3k gold since he was the one and automatically got a thunderclaw needless to say the game lasted 5 minutes. It would be nice to be able to test item builds and play with smaller amounts of people without the gold rush. The end point of this would be to have more fun with the game and to teach people in private games.
My suggestion would be to give the 5v5 default amount of gold to each player no matter what game type they chose (5v5,4v4, etc.) Overall making a smaller match player wise should not mean a faster gameplay gold wise. If S2 would like to make it a choice then adding an option in advanced settings would be sufficient.

You will probably be able to fill the game with "computer" slots or something to that effect come release.
However, the extra gold isn't really restricted to just helping agi heroes...
You know whats also rediculous. A 2v2 when both plays on the opposing team get a fking codex.
definite yes, needs to be changed.
No. That's silly. If you guys lost to an engi rushing thunderclaw...I lol. That's preposterous to see how you even MANAGED that.
As for the actual idea though: Again, no. The guy playing by himself gets many massive disadvantages as it already is - many heroes like BH, Zephyr, Legionnaire, and others can go and simply tower cut, pushing a lane that you're not in, all game long, you can't do anything about it because early game all you're gonna end up doing is slowing down one person's farm while the other just goes and tower cuts (or even just pushes the lane o.O), resulting in a loss of farm in your ENTIRE team vs a loss in farm of just half of theirs. In the end the overall gold gotten by the team of 2 is far greater than the team of one, not just by both combined, but by just one.
Why don't you just buy down?
If it's you and friends you just buy enough HP pots to go down to 600 and then drop and kill the stack
Getting rolled in a legit 2v2 (and I use the term legit loosely talking about a 2v2) because you don't take measures to counter it, is not a reason to change the game.
How about this for balance, then:
Everyone on the team with more players starts with 603 gold. The other team gets the same amount of total gold, split evenly between the players.
For example, in a 2v1, the 2 players would start with 603 gold each, and the 1 with 1206 gold. In a 1v1, each player would start with 603 gold.
I still stand by my statement that you should just buy down to the desired amount
No legitimate game is going to be 2v1 or something silly like that unless it's predetermined to be so, in which case you can decide what to buy down to
And what about those who don't want it set down to a lower amount?
They can't buy up or add to their money, but you can buy down to an amount.
Adding a check box option for lowered gold amounts, I'll give a T-UP
But forcing options on people is pretty silly when people could want either
It's like trying to make the argument against NM vs EM, yeah I'd much prefer it if EM was removed entirely, but there's people who like to play that way and thus it remains.

I think this should be an option,
"No gold bonus".
Backdooring is not cheating but it's rarely done, even in pubs.
And if it happens it's so easy to counter that most of the time it fails. So if you can't handle it, you can't be pro.
You can't be competitive. You can't be a winner. If you can't play vanilla, you can't play.![]()
I think that this should be the default, and there should be an option available to all game modes, "custom starting gold". This option would allow the host to specify the amount of gold players start with. This fixes the current problem and adds more flexibility for people who want to try interesting game types.
It's the same in Dota as well. I remember games where sniper would come out 20 minutes with divine rapier and get another one in 20 mintues. Me and a teammate bearly won with permabashing slardar and refresher zues. I think it it should be an extra ADVANCE option in games less then 4v4 to have a low gold startup, rather then a default mod.
