What exclusives do you want to play? That's the only deciding factor.

(Keep in mind that I own a Xbox 360 Elite, Playstation 3 and a Wii.)
Gaming wise, the only difference is that the 360 has far better online-gaming systems, then the PS3. Graphics arent that big of a difference, and shouldnt be considered as such when you are deciding which you want to go with.
Playstation 3 has cool unique titles like God of War and Heavy Rain etc.
Xbox 360 has the Halo series, Gears of War etc.
Both the 360 and the PS3 can be connected to your PC for extra media station functions, alto, the PS3 is better at this because of PS3MediaServer (google) and it can view more kins of codecs.
Summary:
360: Better gaming console.
PS3: Better multimedia console.
(even if one of them is better in something, its hardly a GREAT difference, they still walk hand-in-hand)
S2 Games: Dedicated employees serving dedicated gamers. Continuous development. Never-ending improvement.

Basically, if you want to play online on the console, jump for a 360.
PSN can be quite laggy, and XB360 (so far) has no problems at all.
Yeah, but the way I see it, you're going to be spending most of your time online playing one or two games (probably Halo 3 or MW2). You're basically skimping out on buying another game to play these games, when the online service is perfectly fine on PS3/PC.

i have played on 6 360's on various internets in various parts of this country each for relatively extensive periods of time and i will tell you. out of the 2 PS3's ive played on as well? PSN kicks the **** outa xbox live. its ****in terrible and doesnt hold a torch to PSN (personal experience)
also my personal 360 has red ringed twice and my PS3 has never frozen or even glitched on me before.
i know i SOUND like a PS3 fanboi but ive srsly only had problems with 360 and never had problems with PS3.

Kind of went through this a couple of months ago myself. My xbox stoped reading discs and I was trying to decide to get another xbox or a ps3. A good friend of mine is a HUGE ps3 fanboy and wanted me to come over and try some cod4 out (thats all I played at the time).
After about two hours of play here was my conclusion of the ps3; ****ing SUCKS for fps games. The controller feels like a cheap peace of **** in my hands. There were more hackers in one match than I have ever run into in my entire xboxlive experience.
I dont like paying for xboxlive but at the same time its nice having microsoft looking out for you. So you really do get what you pay for there.
But like I said, all I play on my 360 is MW2 now so...
id say Ps3 for the FF exclusive

If you're going to be playing blockbuster shooters (Halos, CoD's) then get an Xbox.
Otherwise get a PS3.
The Xbox 360 is built to collapse after the warranty is over! :O
Srsly, 1 week after warranty expired I got a red ring of death. Although 360 is better for gaming, ps3 is more for movies and shiet.

I live in Brazil here blu-rays are ****ing expensive...
Xbox looks good ,but the best games go for PC...
