A lot of my friends and people I have played with, myself included hate the fact that when entering anything less than a 5v5 a player starts with tons more gold. This is especially true with 1v1's or 2v2's. This in turn allows agility heroes especially but any other hero to get a VERY early advantage item wise.
For example my friends and I did a 2v1 last night and my friend got engineer. He started with 3k gold since he was the one and automatically got a thunderclaw needless to say the game lasted 5 minutes. It would be nice to be able to test item builds and play with smaller amounts of people without the gold rush. The end point of this would be to have more fun with the game and to teach people in private games.
My suggestion would be to give 600 gold to each player no matter what game type they chose (5v5,4v4, etc.) Overall making a smaller match player wise should not mean a faster gameplay gold wise.
How about just adding that to the game advanced options where the other things like, no strength heroes and stuff are.
Just a box you can tick and everyones gold is 600 or w/e at the start of the game.
