As valk, I don't know what you can do to stop cd. I am not talking about pub play because I can easily beat pubs, but for competitive games it is so hard to stop cd from grabbin runes. Sure you can just stun him, but with wards on both teams it is near impossible to hit someone mid, because the terrain is so open(there aren't any trees to block vision of the arrow and wards give you sight over the cliffs). Is there really anyway to beat him? He has a good bit more damage then valk and a much better animation in my mind. Any good replays would be useful too (and I don't really want to see valk beating CD in pub games either, I want to see more competitive games please).
Have someone else lane against him
Valk isn't usually solo mid in competitive games, lack of damage is problematic.
The only thing you can hope to do against CD as Valkyrie is to out-rune him :/. Or get a roamer to constantly put pressure on mid so that you can last-hit easier (and even kill CD)

cd is pretty much unstoppable mid unless you are deadwood, or maybe pebs
If you HAVE to solo mid as Valk vs CD at mid, then you can't really hope to kill him, just try to stay toe-to-toe with him on CS/CD (hard, as you said he has better Attack Animation and dmg.) Rune whoring/ganks is the best way to counter him.
Although he may be faster than you, you have leap. Put a point in it early (like level 2) and just beat him to runes using it. Also, even if runes are warded, you can use your arrows two ways:
-Either you use it to block his path to the runes which slows him down and you can get the rune before him, leaping in if you have to.
-Or you can try to hit him when he's in the river where the path is the most narrow and diagonally aimed arrow has good coverage of the path.
With leap, CD should not be beating you to runes, and if you are scared of wasting your leap to get a rune because he might chase, you still have arrow to stun him as you run + movespeed from leap, and teammates should be watching out for opportunities to gank CD like that anyway.

Granted, there are some fun combos like Valk/Succ, but on a general note -
What should be the type of hero to lane with Valk?
"Melee Stun who doesn't need tons of farm" (fe the given Magmus),
and while the Lane is less impressive than others, Valk might fit better in your lineup than Pyro?

Do they have any plans on slowing down the attack animation of Corrupted Disc? He is probably the easiest ranged hero to last hit with, and a pain in the ass to deny.
