    Custom Diablo User Interface

    Diablo UI

I'm glad you all enjoyed my work but I'm no longer interested in HoN.

As of today I will no longer be working on this or any other mod for HoN. I'll be moving to starcraft modding under the same name

I'm going to host all my image files sometime soon including the bioshock UI we didn't finish. Feel free to make a fan version of Diablo UI and use the images for bioshock UI, just give credit where it's due and keep my "List of thanks".

If you would like to take over the Diablo UI just send me a PM, I'll get you all the new files and link the original post of this thread to your new thread.
Description: This addon will turn your User Interface into a custom Diablo UI.

This is a honmod only addon. Expect updates soon after MiniUi/Movable Frames updates.

Remember if you don't like something placed in my UI, you can always MOVE IT! All standard MiniUI functions are still in-tact. Don't expect to download this mod without doing any work to make it customized for your needs. There is a base model but you will have to move panels to your liking (this is intended)

It also requires you to have MINIUI installed you can download it here:
    http://forums.heroesofnewerth.com/sh...ad.php?t=51269

and it requires Movable Frames by AsiaPingPong
    http://forums.heroesofnewerth.com/sh...ad.php?t=76942

    Patch Notes

    Code:
    1.2.2 - Fixed dropbox bug

    1.2.1 - Fixed bug

    Patch Notes: 1.2
    -Auto Updates now working correctly
    -Bug Fixes
    -Added Mana Regen information
    -Packages now included with mod.xml

Want 88h instead of 100% view? Check out:

    Please read everything before
    downloading

-You must have MiniUI and Moveable Frames installed before adding this.

    Installation:

    1. Place DiabloUI folder into C:\Program Files (x86)\Heroes of Newerth\game\ (or your game directory).
    2. Install and apply honmod
    3. In game click Reset Default under moveable frames options (if frames are not in place).

    Download

    http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4902702/DiabloUiNew.honmod
    (HUGE THANKS TO [ATO]NYX)

    Download this too: (Image files)

Make sure to replace any old version with this

    http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4155997/Diab...e%20Folder.rar

Extract this file into "C:\Program Files (x86)\Heroes of Newerth\game" Put the hon mod in the normal honmod folder.

The reason I have them in a separate folder is so it will be easy for users to edit them.

Everything is in there. Multiple units is above the "Commands" tab.

1080p is the standard everyone should be aiming for now in terms of minimum visual quality, time you get a monitor upgrade to save development time.

It's a bit like developing for IE6 users, when they should of installed a newer browser, it's not like there's no choices...Firefox...Opera... Chrome...IE7...IE8...

I'm torn between developing for old standards (which no clients wants to pay for, it's expected), while clients want cutting edge features, which old standards don't support without excessive work.

    wait, what was your question

The smallest 1920x1200 monitor I've seen is 22"
It's just not a matter of resolution, it's also a matter of desk space.

After a quick google, I found a 20" of that resolution.

But they won't, so good Web Developers need to develop with IE6 restrictions in mind.

This is also a bad analogy since it's much easier to switch browsers than it is
for someone to upgrade their monitor and/or computer.
I'm an honest guy who's not afraid to be blunt. Hope you can handle that.

right, so your telling me that the 16:10 format is sub-par? surely you jest.

This format will be in use for many hardware generations to come.

Time to not tell me what resolution to use. I have a laptop. That's the maximum resolution. I don't have money to buy a 1920*1200 laptop. Trust me, I know higher resolution is better.

    And this:
    - This addon was made for 1920x1200 but will work with any resolution. (as long as you move/resize for yourself)
    - I will be making more resolutions on request.

I got a 2nd hand refurb laptop with a 1080p 17" screen, it has a seriously high pixel density, and it was about the same price as an entry level laptop in the UK at this time.

You can run whatever res you want, I'm glad you realise you don't have to do everything I write in an online forum.

My point was, technology companies should really be producing quality equipment which meets the latest visual standards, blu-ray is 1080p, all future monitors should aim for that resolution, so should games, so should mods, it makes them future proof for the time being.

Still that won't stop companies producing low pixel density large screens with a poor resolution, it's a shame consumers think they are getting a bargain because it's big. "ooh I got a 50" screen for ?200, bargain"...yeah shame you're still missing out on a lot of detail...

The game runs at a minimum resolution of 800x600. Because the mod will be run by people who meet the specs of the game, you should seek to meet the minimum specs of the game with your mod or else you are limiting your userbase. It's not hard to understand.
Of course, sometimes it's more difficult to do so, but that doesn't mean you should exclude potential users because of your personal preference.

I don't think the problem here is whether or not I understand these standards. Thing is I play with what I have and that's that. I can't justify upgrading my system and essentially throwing away money on what I spent on last year because someone on a message board told me to. Sure 1080p looks great. But, not everyone has it and it is certainly not a standard yet. People are still in the process of upgrading. Also Canada != UK. Standards are different in each country and so are costs. My laptop is 15.4" because I bring it around with me everywhere as well as being a desktop replacement. Find me a 15.4" with 1080p that was on sale in July 2008 and was under 1300 Canadian dollars. I was on a budget, and this was the best I could get.

And now, I hope this thread stays ontopic, because arguing about resolutions is pointless.

I believe majority of people will not or don't have the equipment to see the difference between 720p and 1080p.

Yes, 1080p is the future, but it doesn't mean everyone needs it or ready for it at this moment.
