thanks to this guide, i played rampage like a man last night. My whole team played all strength heroes and we scared the other team so much that they couldn't even move. Predator, warbeast, pestilence and me, rampage, their leader. We also had this valkyrie but w/e. One of the best games i ever played. Though we lost, everyone (including the other team) agreed we had won in the end.

what about phase boots, mana battery, whispering helm, geomancer's bane???

you ult, geo, phase, stun..... this is like 51% chance to stun every 1.5 seconds with around 5 seconds of guarenteed stun.

Yes, my rustiness pisses me off very often, but after playing around 80 games per day, I have recovered quite a bit. At the beginning of my comeback, my brain was functioning at a very low capacity and I couldn't help but think, 'Wow is this how bkid feels like?'

General points on Rampage that address some of the stuff brought up in the last few months:

Frostburn nerf hurts quite a bit, but doesn't change this guide really.

Phase boots are not worth it for the MS-->DMG boost. If you're buying them for that, you're doing yourself a massive disservice (10% on demand translates to a single digit increase in damage for that duration, not worth the loss of IAS in my eyes).

GB is a great item on him, but puts mana pressure on him and has a harder build up (no EHP and damage) so probably isn't suited to scrub use as this guide intends.

If you take nothing else away from this guide, take away that optimum builds are bullshit because they don't take level of play or playstyle into account. Rampage is not the optimum hero his role as anything he can do, another hero can do better. When putting together a build for him the considerations are always the same:

1: Rampage is good at 1v1 ganks.
2: Rampage relies on high MS, damage and IAS.
3: Rampage requires high EHP to do his job.
4: Rampage peaks in the middle game.
5: Rampage is basically bad at farming.

From that you can easily derive the sort of items you want to be looking at:

1: Items that add 1v1 functionality in a gank setting.
2: Items that boost MS, IAS and/or Damage.
3: Items that boost EHP in their buildup phase as well as complete items.
4: Items that are realistic to have by the early-middle game.
5: Items that come in small parts.

That's why Frostburn is a logical choice as a first main item with bracers and treads in support; it caters to all these considerations. It's not the only item covers off on most of them, but it's the easiest to use. Better items if you're a better player relative to your opponents would be Puzzlebox or GB, but the point is that they have risks associated with them and are harder to manage than Frostburn. This guide works in pub play, no two ways about that, but there's more than one way to skin a cat with a Rhino.

Your Elder Parasite logic is broken. Item is still good because it has perfect synergy with his native strengths: bash, chase, movespeed-based damage, single target ganking, and high auto attack damage. It's a stupidly cheap item that will get you lots of kills.

    Nice and funny written guide!

1 quick question from a pub noob, what is BKB? I been looking in items, and i cant find it!

thx - will be fun to try this out, i begin play him the last 2 days - totally different though, but was still fun and now i might begin get some higher KD

EDIT: I do however realize i dont need BKB, its just annoying you all talk about it and i dont know what it is! ;=)

I followed this guide kinda. In lane I was kinda annoyed as succy/hb kept spamming theirs spells on me on cooldown, and my ally was a cowering idiot so I could do nothing. Later, I tried charging people like this guide suggested. This worked only once. Then my enemies just stayed in the fog in a group of 5 (not kidding, they actually did this). Thus, we began a game in bizzaro world where I would carry a tp and rice the nearest lane for as long as I felt it would take them to walk across the map to gank me. Then I'd port over. This happens for 10 or 15 minutes until I slowly get a frostburn. They I charge in die, and my teammates clean up. We eventually win using this method. My question is, what should I do when my enemies cower in the fog?

uhh rampaeg is gud now so this guide doesnt help

1irst off u can't charge from fountain nemore cus not even OVER 9000 range isnt long enough to charge to the other fountain so it sux why did S@ make it so that you haev to step off the fountain to charge

2econd he got some chains instead of tha tteleport ult thing. i guess its kinda good now cus you can attack when u chain them. before that ult sukced i mean your the carry why does your ult have to make you not attack

this guide is kinda old now but it got some important things like forstburn core

also what about storm spriti (not da panda rofl u silly doTArds) it gives u more speed so why not?

When this happens to me I immediately start to call them cowards in all chat. Insult them in any way possible and stuff until someone comes out then charge/raep that ****.

    premium guide by the way

    All-caps is unreadable.

    Oh wow. Epic necro >.>

I can't in good conscience endorse playing rampage at the moment. He has become some kind of fgt hybrid spellcaster with way less testosterone and some stupid ulti that doesn't involve anything near the manly violence of teleporting your rhino horn up someone's nether regions and viciously raping them.

Was my most beloved hero until that terrible nerf (redesign they called it?).
Favorite warcry for rampage after gank was "DON'T F*CK WITH RHINO, FOOL!!1"

I always built SnY on Spiritbreaker. The few times I've played Rampage I've built Frostburn with great success. Let's analyze this for a second. When are you going to pick Rampage? Because I'll bet that 90% of the time at the character select screen when you're thinking, 'Rampage would be such a great hero to pick right now,' Frostburn is going to be the best item anyway.

Now, Rampage can work with a multitude of item builds, but if you're a bad pub kid (like me) and you know it, do yourself a favor and pick up Frostburn.

Unless of course the Geometer's Bane bash bug still works on him, in which case build that.
