I have to profess I have not yet seen this. I don't typically go to the theatre to catch big blockbusters like this--last big movie I actually paid to go see (and am not ashamed to tell you guys about) was The Dark Knight.
My big question is, is this movie good because of the 3D, or does it stand on its own? If I wait 'til it comes out on DVD, am I going to be missing a once-in-a-lifetime experience?
i wanna see it too, last time i planned on seeing it, tickets were sold out.
Went last week for the 3D presentation and it was sold out an hour early.
Going to try again this weekend.
I'm an honest guy who's not afraid to be blunt. Hope you can handle that.
I've been trying to book tickets at the Imax in London but it' sold out for all the performances I can see![]()
I haven't seen it yet, but from my friend's who've seen it, I hear one thing. "Great animations, **** story".
Weak plot but, best CG I've ever seen.
Better writing would've made it one of the best of the year.

I wouldn't say the CG was that great...
I mean Advent Children came out in 2002 IIRC and had just as good graphics.
I have returned![]()
I heard it caused some kind of global depression/suicidal tendencies because it was so good.
I've seen it, it was alright. I liked LOTR 3 better.

This, it's called Avatar depression and I had it for 2 weeks before I shrugged it off. Here's a CNN excerpt:
Now I didn't go as far as contemplating suicide (or did I? ^_-), but for many, this movie will make you yearn for more Avatar as you leave the theatre. I know /tv/ was jammed pack with Avatar threads until New Years after this movie was released.James Cameron's completely immersive spectacle "Avatar" may have been a little too real for some fans who say they have experienced depression and suicidal thoughts after seeing the film because they long to enjoy the beauty of the alien world Pandora.
A user named Mike wrote on the fan Web site "Naviblue" that he contemplated suicide after seeing the movie.
"Ever since I went to see 'Avatar' I have been depressed. Watching the wonderful world of Pandora and all the Na'vi made me want to be one of them. I can't stop thinking about all the things that happened in the film and all of the tears and shivers I got from it," Mike posted. "I even contemplate suicide thinking that if I do it I will be rebirthed in a world similar to Pandora and the everything is the same as in 'Avatar.' "

Saw it on DVD and thought it was so-so at best. Would love to see it in 3D, but due to things like supply and demand and a free market changing the price of movie tickets in Communist China, they cost about 35 USD each now... And it definitely ain't worth that much.
