OK, since this hero is my favourite hero ( I tried it yesterday before I made the post for the first time and I simply... LOVE IT! ) I decided to read it now, despite being already awesome with it and I've gotta say that this guide is very well written and tells you everything you need to know, infact, despite playing electrician quite a few times now I found some points [ For instance the relatively no cost nuke and how to become an awesome farmer with Electrician ] new to me.
Although I personally build Sac as 3rd or 4th item and leave the plate for one of the last ( should try the other way around now ) because Static Grip has sweet DPS ( 50 dps ) and I end up getting some killing blows ( infact, Last time I played electrician I ended up with 12-2-9 or something. ).
Just watch out for Mage Bane, hehe. He's going to hurt you so much.
Oh and did I already say good guide ? If not then yeah.
Nice & Complete Guide, good work. Some thoughts on the items:
- I almost always go Headress, especially when there are a lot of nukes involved.
I never use bottle as the mana shouldn't be a problem, that and Headress for the HP regen. It works very good.
- I also prefer Frostfied Plate first over Sac Stone, however sometimes it is easier to farm Sac Stone, when you are roaming a lot. Waiting to have 2700 can be tough work, especially with even teams.
Also, farming with Frostfield is not very effective, due to cooldown. You will prefer to spare it for gang / battle.
At your first point, you are completely correct and I just overlooked this while I was writing my guide. Shaman's headdress should be strongly considered and I have updated my item build to reflect this, with credits going to you.
Bottle just isn't for the regen. Now granted, if there is any ganker that can get away without going bottle, it is Electrician. However, bottle just isn't for the regen but also for the runes, in particular haste and invis. For 600 gold I would still consider it a relatively safe purchase.
Frostfield has a 30 sec cooldown. All I really have to say about this is to farm smart. Obviously you shouldn't be casting it every time it comes off cooldown. In any given game though, you will be given opportunities to farm with frostfield, guaranteed.

About the bottle: for runes of course.
It also depends on the other heroes in your team. Elec works pretty fine without any rune as his spells are very versatile.
Now, from my point of view, you should add different builds, like I've seen in some other guides.
About Frostfield: of course there are some opportunities, but there aren't so many to prefer FrostField over Sac just for that. Also, assuming that the rest of your team is also farming. Personnally, I don't farm much better with it; if you haven't been fed, it should be mid-late game, where gangs & battles are heating a lot.
Sac stone: Gives hp and mana, regen for both, for 5050 gold. Unlike Defiler or Torturer, Electrician has a hard time charging sac stone, a huge reason why sac stone is often considered. Since I never play Electrician to exclusively carry I end up feeding my carries kills all game.
Frostfield Plate: Gives mana, armor, and an active aoe slow for 4700 gold. Is completely effecient from the instant it is farmed. While the only real application of sacrificial stone is tanking, Frostfield plate offers tanking, farming potential, and aoe slow.
Note that I have done extensive testing on Electrician. I have soloed him mid against thunderbringer. I have roamed with him. I have laned with him. I have bought sac stone in some games, and Frostfield plate in others. In the end, my conclusion was inevitable, Frostfield plate is superior to Sacrificial Stone.

Of course, I never said the contrary, like I said, I also prefer Frostfield Over Sac stone.
I'm just pointing out its farming ability which is potentially good, but effectively minor for its actual use.

Wont you run dry of mana pretty fast though, if you dont get ANY mana regen items at all?
I did mention getting mana pots (1 or 2) and I highly recommended getting bottle. With such high base int, it is hard to run dry as Electrician.

Will his ultimate stack with phase boots? Or whatever they're called now, enchanted marchers?
-cheers
What order do you actually shoot for things?
I mean you can start with crownx2 runs + mana pot
What do you aim for next? What is the most effecient build order
Something like:
Bracer #1
Marchers
Bracer #2
Shamans head
Enh. Marchers
Frostfield
Or do you go some other way.
Also what do you do vs 2 ranged in a lane, apart from be starved for cash.
Farming with elec isn't hard, use your third to last hits.
My build:
2 strenght gautlets
2 runes of blights
---
Headress: easy to farm in lane with your Third, even against 2 ranges.
Just stay back, rush, spell, run back.
475 + 475: 2 cheap rings which you can get pretty fast.
With those, you have enough HP regen to continue easily.
---
Then boots
2 bracers
---
GANG
---
Enhanced marchers
---
HEAVY GANG
---
Frostfield
@ karnaj: yes. The 10% ms bonus will apply at the exact moment it is cast. In fact in the user interface there is a movespeed indicator, you can watch the effectiveness of cleansing shock + phase for yourself.
@ Vermifax: eh it depends on the strength of the other lane and your own playstyle. In lanes with weaker opponents I play very aggresively and as such usually end up rushing bottle and marchers. I then finish enhanced marchers and begin on frostfield plate, unless I need Shaman's Headdress in between.
Evo pretty much went over what to do against a harder lane. Electrician is imo the strongest early game hero though. You won't run into harder lanes often.
@imsojuicy: Static Grip is indeed a channeling spell, but it is heavily, and I mean, heavily favored for ganks and laning. Electrician's role in team fights is basically to tank and chase down survivers. If the other team throws a stun at me to break static grip, that's just one more stun they haven't used on the rest of my team. Considering Electrician's overall role on the team, I don't find shrunken head to be necessary on Electrician at all.
