This would do well in a wiki format I think. The game changes so frequently it is very hard for one person to keep it up to date.
The problem with the "anyone can add good info" part is that anyone can add bad info as well. I'm all up for a wiki, but that is a fundamental problem. I think it can be solved in 2 ways:
- Only certain users can post.
- Heavily moderated.
The problem with option 1 is that it's basically like the current system. The problem with option 2 is that people with knowledge of the game need to invest time in it.

A publicly editable wiki would be very useful actually. You'd simply have to make people create an account with email verification and CAPTCHA, so that troll accounts would take a while to create. Wikipedia's success goes purely off its ability for anyone to edit it, most people aren't actually interested in trolling and it would be easy to moderate a small community wiki.

HoN has an official wiki it just has some server problems right now. I am working on setting up a template so people can make quick easy to find mini guides that will be more up to date. Will let you guys know when the ground work is in place in case you are interested in helping. (people who help are going to be able to earn a little courier friend)

I might have some tips on Balphagore.
I've been playing him a lot lately and thinks the puzzlebox is a great item on him. With plated greaves and puzzlebox lvl3 no way a tower survives that, and it scales nice after a nice ulti.
And i think Balpha would be a nice pick if the other team picks a jungler. They will lose the short lane tower very fast, giving their jungler less ability to jungle.

Why is Helm of the Black Legion a bad item on Electrician?
Because there WERE (cough, over nerfed) better items. As a tank that relied on mana + HP things like :Glowstone: >> :SacrificialStone: would be much better pickups early and late.

This guide is so incredible - if this was just an iphone/ipod app where you could select the hero and then see the recommended items and stat/skill point distribution per level - that would be bad ass!
Hey BadAsskicker, must say I do love ur in-game mod, if you redo it can u make the ability and items section like the one rizel has for his guides? it is small compact and can auto add the abilities to the automatic ability learner in mini ui. To combine this with the hondb guides and ur mod with 30 second guides would be just killer!Oh sweet. Should I make a mod out of those?

Tried to do the automatic ability function, but couldn't do it, too complicated and I don't even use MiniUI. Also nobody wanted to help with the coding, so don't expect that function.
I'm not sure about 30 sec guides, that was kinda unique for the Big Hero Guide, but would display a wall of text for HonDB guides, which is not what we want ingame.

Update 1.0.13 included native support for movable frames and mods. While running the old 'movable frames mod' and 'big hero guide' no interface whatsoever is shown. No chat, no icons, no frames, no shop, no scoreboard, no minimap... nothing.
Probably has more to do with Movabel Frames than with Big Hero Guide, but as you cannot start Big Hero Guide without Movable Frames, it still needs a fix.
Really? That's be nice, make a template that looks like Newti's setup. It's great.

As for trolls etc. on a wiki, it's no problem. I've seen it work for other gaming communities. Wikipedias are great, you just need some bots to monitor it.
