First off, I've never been a clicker, but I've noticed myself clicking things... and its driving me nuts. Things like my bottle... I'll go up to a rune, left click my bottle and then left click the rune to bottle it... BAD.
I've been trying to find a comfortable layout for my keybinds and would like input on how to modify them to integrate all of the tricks that go into giving one an edge in HoN.
I'm using a G15 and a G9.
I don't like having to hit "A" and then click a friendly creep to attempt a deny... is there a way to modify right click to issue an attack command against a friendly unit without having to issue the "A"ttack command first?
I would much rather use A as my top left inventory item.
[a] [s] [d]
[z] [x] [c]
Or... perhaps move my ability skills up to 1-4 (instead of Q-R)... and use...
[w] [e] [r]
[s] [d] [f]
...for inventory, leaving "A" for attack and opening up "Q" for some other hotkey for animation canceling.
Right now my bottom 3 inventory items are supposedly activated by Shift+
[S+Z] [S+X] [S+C]... but often I find that attempting to use the hotkeys for these doesn't work... while the top 3 remain functional.
How do you bind?
I don't believe you can modify right click without using a 3rd party program.
Would macroing something like that (or macroing in general) with a G15 be considered cheating?
Been thinking about something similar, but one rarely gets more than 3 useable items. At least items you actually use, compared to ring of the teacher and steamboots. So basically really only need 3 buttons for items. Maybe 4.
Also thumbs up for using Spacebar as Hold/Stop. Works so nicely'H' is a retarded button in this game, so far from the hand. Spacebar is right there on the thumb.

Once you go spacebar, H just feels lefthanded. Unless you are lefthanded, then it probably feels righthanded.

i like space for minimap focus. i use mid mouse for hold
I've been using space for voice, but I'm definitely going to remap "Hold" to space, and middle mouse for voice.
I don't really feel that minimap focus is a useful function worth mapping. Any want to argue differently?
i do like to hit space when i see a ping or something to check it out. the 'c' button refocuses camera on the hero so you dont even waste mouse time clicking the minimap.
so a quick space -> check out whats going on -> quick C -> back to normal
i like to actually bind my mouse wheel and side mouse buttons as my inventory slots, it makes consumables and ghost marchers much easier to absent mindedly use.
