Hungry Spirit - Mask of Death: +10% Life Steal - 900 gold
I was just wodnering if this was worth getting over say a bottle/rune etc - as wouldn't I get hp back for every creep I hit? Would that be more beneficial than a 3 hit rune or even bottle?
I forget how much gold you have to start with in a 5v5 but getting this would mean no boots, but would it be more beneficial to stay in lane?
Cheers
Reading on and seeing other useful things like Trinket of Restoration - Ring of Regeneration: +2 HP Regeneration - 375 gold
and other things...
I suppose it only matters if you are going for something that these items make - otherwise waste of money?
You start with 603 gold in a 5v5 i think. Certainly if you're going for a shaman headress than get trinkets or if your going for sac stone or something than go for lifetube, I personally don't think hungry spirit would be worth it until you have a good attack speed but who knows.
Is % based off damage dealt, or max hp, or what?
If you're using it as your only means of regen, you have to constantly auto attack. Early on 10% is probably 6-8 life per hit. While it may, theoretically, give more health if you're constantly auto attacking, it's assuming you won't be harassed while attacking.
Life steal is something for carries, and units with crits.
Not to mention that you can store runes in bottles.
they are highly effective on a solo mid character that can easily check both rune locations and it can be purchased right off the bat in a 5v5. Life steal is generally the last item I go for on characters as it isn't all that good until lategame when you're doing bigger damage.
If you random, you start with 853 gold. Then you take a side lane and can pick up the mask soon after the game starts.
I'd only do that with a few heroes, not the smartest starting setup, but viable on some setups.
Runes spawn of a random type every 2 minutes in one of 2 spawn locations- north or south river. This is an excellent place to put Scout's wards or Keeper's trees to keep tabs on runes at all times.
As far as actual usage, approach the rune with an empty bottle. Click the bottle, then click the rune. Your bottle will now store the rune. As soon as you use the bottle next, the rune will be activated and you'll have a full bottle.
I suggest using the timer at the top of the screen to keep tabs on rune spawns. Check every 2 minutes.
Early on, I find Hungry Spirit very useful with War Beast. It depends on your opponents ofc, but I don't know any other char who might benefit from it, perhaps Chronos?
