Noob = Begginer? Actually not. S2 to support newcomers

Well, I'm mostly new to HoN and came after a week of playing DotA.
Since I'm really a real noob (atm K/D 0,3, actually just feeding when the game is already lost xD), who almost knows the basics, I'm wondering with the discription "Noob" in this game.
Well am I simply see some good players in "NOOB" games, and when they see a noob... Well what happens? Kicking, flaming and rest of it... Now I'm wondering why experienced players still play in "Noobs allowed"-Rooms which are actually named e.g. "Only BIIIG NOOOOBS! JOIN".
So what I want to gain with this topic, is something like a real mode or room-option for Noobs, those who are new to this kind of game or just still lack the mechanics. So maybe an option for adjust the PSR you can have, for joining this room.
    For example:
A player has a PSR of 1300, now he wants to play with players good as him. So he opens a room, and can adjust the PSR to join this room. Since he doesnt want proNoobs to play with him, but it should become a room to push his kd or PSR, the minimum is 1400 (so around 100 or 150~ difference needed).
Many room-names currently have names like "1400+" or "1300-1500", but why not simply include an option for this?

I hope you understand the situation a bit and maybe there is a way, that we noobs can play together with us noobs. Thanks for reading.

Not a bad idea, however one problem is that a new player starts with a PSR of 1500, which kinda means your solution wouldn't really work for brand new noobs.

There is a mod for this, I use it sometimes.
Look in the mods section for Picklefish's PSR Filter

Thank you Illustrious, I will try it and hope it gets better.
But I think there should be an official solution.

@Zadam: I think the starter PSR should be lower than this anyway.

I agree. I am a much better player than I was when I started, and my PSR is currently under 1500... Which implies that when I first played the game I was better than I am now (definitely not true).

PSR should start at 1000 or so IMHO.

in all honestly the learning curve for this game is steep, and should S2 want to make it more appealing to new comers they should take more priority in catering new comers.

    1. develop a tutorial for the basics of hon, e.g. heroe types/items/lanes through a story mode.

    2. seperate EM-PSR from normal PSR (allow players who feel comfortable with themselves to play non-em games, or vice versa allow some room for competitiveness in EM settings)

    3. allow manual reset of EM-PSR (much like creating a new account but you dont have to pay for it)

    4. enable players to join/host non-em after 'N number' of EM games and stays above 1500. (should vets fail this due to bad team mates they can always reset it back to 1500)
    [and enable beta users above 1600 to join/host non-em also :P ]
P.S. they can by pass this by invitations of 1600+ non em rated player.

    5. RENAME the god damn EM tag, easy mode just sounds so retarded and unfair and un appealing to vets of this game type.
    rename it to something like:
    quick mode
    rush mode
    short mode

what ever sounds less retarded than easy mode...
tbh easy mode is just a different environment, if 10 vet players play, not each one of them would find it easy, they'd adapt to more effective hero picks and items and play.

    ^ Horrible idea.

Why would you encourage noobs to learn the wrong game by playing EM? Everything they learn goes out of the window when they join non-EM.

The seperated PSRs makes sense, and I support renaming EM, but forcing new players to play EM is bad for their learning curves.

it would be better to give you an unrated status until 25 games and they base it off how u did in those games (pretty much USCF elo system)

    One question at this point:
The PSR is just rated after your matches win/lose, right?
I saw many players whose PSR is kinda bad, but they are quite good and have K/Ds like 1,8~ and many Assists. I think this should influence the PSR too, since you might always come into a noob team, so your PSR drops all the time.
I hope there will come changes until the game is ready for retail.

Btw, why is there a "Noob allowed"-Mode but no "Noobs only" ?

apem noobs only games are just pubstomps most of the time. (they want to play against just noobs for KDR farming.) Also I find that for some reason I often faced very skilled players in noob only games on alternate accounts etc. when I used to join them.

noob only games are just a trap most of the time, its just going to be a one-sided shithole game. Theres always at least one or more really good players, and with the **** noobs backing up your teamwork, you get nowhere.

Play non-noob games, because this is a hole that isn't exactly fun to crawl out of. Practice in no stat games if you need it.
