Hi HoNers,
Here is my thread for my skins. You will find here in these pages and on my site a collection of hero skins, either enhanced default skins or custom ones for heroes, terrain textures, creeps, NPCs, etc...
You can download packs or individual packages, depending on your needs. Individual packages are updated more regularly than full packages. Click on the + icon on my site to display file properties : update date, size, etc...
Important Notes :
- Installing is easy : move the s2z file to your HoN/game folder.
If you still want to delete some of the heroes from the "mod" you can open the s2z file with WinRAR or 7-ZIP (both available for free from the web). With them you open the file and go to the map heroes contained inside it and delete the hero folder you want to take away.
- These skins are meant to be used with all graphic settings set to HIGH and ON, Texture Filtering set to maximum. If your PC runs the game smoothly with theses settings ON you know it will run the mod fine. Tweak the settings to make the skins look good and maintain 60 fps at least for a better experience.
- The mod uses high memory and makes the game crash due to memory leaks so it's better to restart the game after each game. The less RAM and VRAM you have the more you'll have to restart the game to prevent crashes. If you have at least 2 Gb of RAM and a 512Mb video Card, you can run several games without crashing.
I made a special 512x512 version for low end PCS.
If you experience video card overheating, visual glitches, freezes and video card resets (a problem due to nvidia drivers) then
try running the game in OpenGL rather than DirectX. You should experience a fps drop but these problems are gone.
To do this, add the following parameters to your HoN shortcut :
Right click on hon shortcut, click properties and you'll find something like this:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Heroes of Newerth\hon.exe"
then add -vid vid_gl2 so that it looks like this:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Heroes of Newerth\hon.exe" -vid vid_gl2
- Try not to multiply skin mods as it may be cause more frequent crashes. If you do not want to use some hero skins, open the .s2z with a zip archiver and delete the relevant hero folders.

Now thats just awesome. Just awesome. Nice work!
Can you remake Ophelia Texture, I really like her
Feeling Dangerous ?![]()
why do this when it's in beta
i'm pretty sure hon is gonna "UP" everything in release
I'm pretty sure they will not up-scale textures in the release because frankly up scaling from the high res HoN 256x256 texes to 1024 ones only makes the textures a bit cleaner. You won't notice it much unless you zoom on them which you usually don't do when playing. But ... if you sharpen them, cartoon them and add additional details, it can be really great. So these high res textures needs rework to fully show their potential. This release is for purists, for fun and for modders that want to further retexture heroes and cannot because of the low res ones.

This is greatDid'nt know you could use larger textures. Is there anything required to use a larger resolution tga? I thought they'd be issues with alignment of uvs, guess it just adjusts as long as the ratio is right?
Do you know anyway to get the wireframes of the uv layout?
No need to reuv map to use larger textures. ye^p as long as the position are the same, it's ok![]()
Amazing, very good work, and nice reworks, but i think the new shield need a border.
Waiting for pack![]()
My Textures!!
* [HD] Frost Rider
* [HD] Mogul Khan, The Axe!
* Human, Devilish & Undead Maliken
* Epic Samurai Swiftblade
* Ancient Slither
* Bullshaker!
does the high res stack with a skin?
"Since skin is just a recolor"
I'll add borders to the shield, it indeed will look better.
Atticah, I don't understand your question. A recoloured skin is not just another recoloured layer put atop the standard skin but a modification of it. Thus my high res texes replace the original just as recoloured ones. But maker of recoloured texes can take my high res skins and recolour them to remake their skin.
Most people here do simple recolour of HoN skins but one must do more. Up-scaling textures is the first step to improving HoN texes. It will allow us to work on 1024x1024 texes thus adding more details which cannot look nice on 256x256 ones. High res texes are not intended for recoloured texes but for more. I encourage skinners here to step to the next level, use my high res texes to truly improve HoN texes. Go !

Thats great to know, thought I was forced to use low res textures for texturingNow I am more motivated to texture again
Thankyou
amazing. great work i just wonder why aren't textures already on this level i mean if u manage to hobby this in ur free time i cant imagine its that time consuming on a graphics team consisting of more ppl, does ur textures give noticeable strain on the graphic card?
So this is where you vanished to PogS?
