Ophelia - What to do when not micro-ing

Had a great game with Ophelia and made it through using 4-5 creeps. Assigned to group 2, tab, q, tab, q, etc. Was able to make some good kills, and I stayed ahead on levels, which is usually tough for me.

For the game, I had a whispering helm, puzzle box, frostwolf skull, abyssal skull, and ring of the teacher. I kinda regret getting the puzzle box because I didn't realize there was a timer on the minions. I feel like Ophelia's role while her creeps do the killing is to disable the enemy so they can't get away, hence the frostwolf, but with someone like Nymphora around, I ended up in a couple of situations where all my creeps were killed (though we were still able to push like mad). As far as equipping Ophelia as a disabler while keeping the abyssal skull and whispering helm, what do you all suggest?

Does the savage mace work for ranged people? Stopping channeling spells when your minotaurs are out of mana seems like a good idea. Null stone to stop spells when things get rushed? Frostfield plate for an extra burst of damage and while your first skill is in cooldown? Or should she go for the totem and the hellflower? I found that I had a really huge sum of cash. Should I just buy items for others? Some advice would help. I had 9 kills and 1 death, but I feel like I could have sealed a lot more if I had the right equipment.

If you're ridiculously rich and want to go DPS without creeps, you should go Shieldbreaker and Demonic Breastplate. Both remove armor, which helps Nature's Wrath intensely as the bonus damage applied from it is physical.

Question: Were you playing -EM? Having that much gold as Ophelia sounds like a bad idea. I say this because in the past Chen (her DotA analogue) has not needed anything more than a pair of boots as well as maybe Mekansm (Astrolabe in HoN) to be more than effective. If you farmed that much without being able to push down the enemy throne then you're doing it wrong.

I don't play easy mode. No point in playing Ophelia if you do.

Mmm.. I made that much gold and finished the game by level 18 or 19. The only one to keep up in levels was Pyromancer, everyone else was several behind. I pretty much was the tower push, starting at level 6 when we initiated the gank and then broke down a tower. That, and killing Kongor at level 7 helped, especially since you get 2 levels and a ton of gold for doing it.

Jungling just gives mass amounts of gold.

In late game ophelias creeps get mangled hard. It's better to use them as a farm team that mows down neutrals in their forest.

Doing this allows you to fast-farm your sheepstick, silence stick, cyclone stick, and frost armor, which will let you team battle perfectly well.
    tl;dr

Ah, that's the build I was looking for. That's great, thanks for the advice.

Pretty much jungling from level 1-7, then ganking and tower pushing. Ophelia seems to do best by a) riding your creep waves and clearing the way for your side's creeps to get to the tower, then destroying it and b) sitting behind the enemy's push and picking off the heroes that have to retreat.

I still think she's valid late game because you have 4-6 creeps with 1000-1400 hps a piece, you can insta-heal all of them at once, and, if you dominate right, 3 of them can stun for 2 seconds each (I like to keep a wolf commander and a catman champion too). Also, using the abyssal skull helps because it gives armor, damage boost, and life leech.
