Traumatizer [Vote me in, I'm innovative!]

    [Bastard Sword] Value: 1400 +

    --- --- ---
    [Punchdagger] Value: 500 +

    --- --- ---
    [Recipe] Value: 350 +

    --- --- ---

    =

    [Traumatizer] Value: 2250

    Passive Bonuses
    +30 Damage

Chance on attack to apply Traumatized.*

*Traumatized: Similar to The Dark Lady's ultimate ability, decreasing
visibility to nothing for a short duration.

    --- --- ---

I'm sold on the idea, but not the duration, nor the chance. Vote for the
    concept, comment for the balance.

(Consider starting with figures like 35%, 1.5s)

    EDIT
: I'm getting a lot of negative votes and very few comments. Please comment.
DOUBLE EDIT: If you're going to vote no, please explain your disagreement.

It has the same ingredients as riftshards, you should change it. Work on it, it might become a usefull part of another recipe items.

Riftshards is a Broadsword, not a Bastard sword. I thought I should clear this up.

I like the idea. Consider balancing it based on the brutalizer as they are very similar items. The duration or prog chance could be higher, or you could involve a ministun for those pesky channeling spells.

As it is I'm afraid it'll be a tad powerful. I can see heroes like Chronos permanently blinding opponents with this.

how short is this short duration?
it's probably not very useful unless it also blinds their minimap too
it does nothing else? not even a slow?
magebane = okay, blink random direction

This + Hack would be pretty lethal.

It's tricky to gauge exactly how powerful this debuff will be. Attacking a hero like Magebane might seem silly if for the reason that he'll blink away randomly, but wouldn't that effectively remove him from the equation during a clash?

The thought had crossed my mind to set this to 100%, 0.75s, but the thought has also crossed my mind to set this to 25% 2.5s, both versions are lethal in their own right.

In the first scenario, you're blinding someone as long as you're consistently attacking them, but as soon as they disengage they would regain vision.

In the second scenario, it's less likely you'll permanently blind someone for the duration of the clash, but if they flee they'll still suffer blind for a second or so before regaining vision.

On a side note, didn't you read the item? There wasn't a whole lot there, and I did list the theoretical chance/duration at 35%, 1.5s

I'm normally opposed to bumps, but I'm not getting a whole lot of feedback, and the poll results are pretty inconsistent.

    Bump for the sake?

I can see this item working, though it might be hard to balance it (the path between imba and useless b/c other things are better seems pretty narrow).

blinding someone fully during a teamfight would make that person useless, maybe you could make a cooldown of 2 seconds and duration of 1.5 or something, because it's also very cheap.
    I like the idea

Pretty neat idea. Sadly no one want chance items.

    No vote, self explanatory.
Just like the competetive scene and any semblance of balance, I have migrated to DotA 2.

imo make it a "on next hit...", that blinds for 5 seconds, with a 10 second cooldown. Means people have to wait those ten seconds before initiating...

it would make gankers oh so powerful, confusing and annoying people who are alone - or to use on a supporting/stunning partner before ganking their friend in a lane.

Anyway, I like the idea, voted yes. Still unsure on how you'd go about balancing it.
Contractor (support/tank, builds towers that hold items, and repairs buildings for gold... sort of like printing your own money)
Hoarse Whisperer (pusher/semi-carry, short ranged AoE attacks, and scaling % based damage)
Harlequin (a pusher/semi-carry that boasts the ability to juggle balls and deal out bad punishment)
Foreman (pusher/support, scavenge gold dying creeps, maintain your towers, send in extra creep waves, and buff up your nearby creeps/allied non-hero units)
Domination Mode (Play using a points system that guarantees no 30 minute+ games!)
