Those are not completely random items, in fact puzzlebox is probably the best thing you can get before refresher if you're interested in not being completely useless between ults. It expands your mana pool and the minions can put out quite a bit of dps with or without the enemy rooted.
Keeper does a lot of roaming to place his eyes, and a quick alchemist bones helps him get his farm quite a bit considering he can't be laning for extended periods of time.
I heard treant got buffed so only heroes can see eyes.
Hopefully keeper's eyes get a buff too. Too bad no one in pubs EVER buys a flying courier let alone check the rune trees to cut them down.
I've had people using a courier to scout for eyes in my games, and damn it's annoying.
I'll be doing a small revision/additions to go with the next patch. The main thing I've wanted to do is clean up the "other heroes" section (putting anyone with a way to destroy an eye is just silly, I might as well just list them, it'll save space) and the item build section. I'm thinking of reformatting it to be like the item section in this guide, which is like the 2nd section of this guide where I just put the picture and talk about it for a short while. There's really no need for me to dictate the exact order of an item build when in reality Keepers item build is very versatile and the order you purchase the items in situational. Of course I'll keep the starting items pics as is.

I really think you should mention Plague Rider as hated enemy because his ult brakes the advantage of keepers ult and Tablet of Command too if you got a problem with destroyed eyes.

Really Really Really AWESOME guide !
Great work !

I use the same skill build, but my item build is completely different. My first items are a chicken, a health pot and the rest into as many branches as I can get. I get my next items in this order:
mana battery
boots
power supply
bracer (or 2)
blink dagger (hopefully before 25 minutes)
refresher. (usually before 40)
In my experience, using camouflage to initiate with your ult only works once or twice before the enemy team wises up and only fights around towers or with dust/wards. Blink dagger allows you to initiate properly around towers and regardless of the enemy team's revelation items. The bracer helps you survive all the damage the enemy team will focus on you. It seems they would rather punish tree for initiating than save their stuns and nukes for the squishies that run in after me. Surviving team fights nets you a LOT of gold. Between cooldowns on my ult, I go into an empty lane or pull the jungle for some easy gold. once you get the refresher, the game is over

You're packing rediculous amounts of regen early game when you don't need them (you do level natures protection???), and grabing two bracers at any stage is just silly with a STR growth of +3.4.
Other than that our item builds are really similar, mine simply caters to a slightly lower pub build (ie. the level where people will just take the items straight out of the guide without thinking about them, which coincidentally is the level where walking into people invisible and ulting will work multiple times.) by going refresh > PK. At a higher level (ie. the level where you would need PK first) I assume the reader has the brains to take the item build into their own hands and go PK first if necessary.
tl;dr I both assume and don't assume the person reading this guide is a moron at the same time! Go me!

Great guide. I think Shaman's Headdress/Barrier Idol deserve some mention here. KotF's natural STR growth and Nature's Protection give him massive EHP with only one weakness: magic damage. In a game with a few nukers, buy one and see what I mean. You'll literally wander through their team doing whatever you please because they're afraid to waste spells on you.

This guide helped me realise that farming that Elder Parasite was not the way to go, and in fact one lonely Scarab, a Power Supply, a lot of wards, and basic boots with a 40min portal key was all that was required of me to win this game.
And a special Soulstealer!
Let me spell it out plain for you
Angry people complain about the things I do
I'm not changing direction, I'm stepping my game up
Maintaining my name, the same way I came up.
Truth is, I thought it mattered
I thought that music mattered.
But does it? Bollocks!
Not compared to how people matter.
'Twas a good game, your initiation was fantastic!

Disagree. Elders is good on him and makes him less boring to play between ults
As someone else said - once you've ulted you've done your job. If enemy focuses you with EP popped that means they aren't focusing your teammates who still have value to add to the fight = bonus. If they ignore you like they probably should, you get that attack speed bonus at no real cost at all.
Also gives you a speed burst for chasing![]()

You might want to put that brain to good use and actually read the post you quoted properly, mate.

Lol, I changed "agree" to "disagree" and now it reads less like I have downe's syndrome.
I guess yday I just saw "elders parasite" and assumed I knew what it said? I dunno o0
Edit: 40 min portal key... that seems like an awful long time to scrounge up 2k gold... considering you're only other purchases are scarab, marchers, power supply... I mean how much can you spend on wards? o0.
40 minute portal key was more my fault then his, sorry, couldn't resist razing every creep wave I saw as SS. ;D

A point on skill builds... I've usually gone with maxing armor, then eye, then camo (1 point i camo at lvl 4).
I've always wondered if it isn't sometimes pointless to be leveling eyes while they're on CD anyways, esp when the mana cost of camoflauge is crippling early on.
My last game as keeper I hit level 8 at the 16 minute mark. Assuming I've placed my eye every 5 minutes I've got 3 eyes out there, and another 4 minute cooldown to go before I can plant another.
I hit level 11 at the 21 minute mark, so there are 2 levels where I could either go eye or camoflauge.
Based on this it is in fact optimal to put the points in eyes over camo when doing an armor-first build.
(tbh i expected to find out that 1 point in camo wouldn't affect the # of eyes or the timer out there but I was wrong)

enjoy your pug!
No black helm among items is a fail for keeper.
I usually go for blackhelm, steam boots and try to get heart. If i get i can stand under tower's firing me without HP bar decresing.
I think I posted the perfect reply to this earlier on in the thread... wait... here it it.
Great, you can tank the AI. Shame no sentient beings will bother trying to kill you because after you ulti you'll be practically useless :> Kinda makes all that extra HP a waste don't you think?
