    First step into competitive scene?

What would be the suggested first step into the competitive scene for a newly created team?

Try to get into some scrims, just so we see where we're at? Any suggested leagues and tournaments?

    Thank you.

Try finding a scrim in the channel Clan Scrim on HoN. Play as many people as possible and figure out what you need to do to improve as a team.

This is an excellent question, been looking to ask the same thing.

How busy is the HoN channel in IRC? Is it easy to find scrims? I play CS competitively and it's relatively easy to find scrims almost any time of the day...

I've been told that the best place to find scrims is /j clan scrim .

You should also try to pass the vouch for HoN League at HoNleague.com.

You can develop some contacts from there.

I have looked into it, but the problem I have with the test games over there is the lack of EU ones. 99% of test games are at US times on US servers.

Well, I'd say 90% of the scrims I've had are from contacts, and NOT from clan scrim.
Although, the good thing is the other 10% became contacts for scrims, so it's not a fail or anything... Just needs more active players.

You should be fine on USE servers. If not, then you should not look into competitive HoN anyway.

Are you implying there will be no competitive scene in EU?

Most games between NA and EU take place on USE. However, I'm sure there are plenty of EU vs EU games going on.

Well ya I mean that makes sense but there will definitely be eu only tournies and leagues soon

My point was that most test games are between 3AM-5AM my time. I have no problem with USE servers.

Dota is larger in eu than us, at least comp wise, this is kinda the same game so there is bound to be AT LEAST some decent leagues once this game goes 100% public.

I'm an NA player and get 150 ping to USE servers. USE is a compromise between Western North America and Europe.

More than 50% of the games I play are in EU, and I'm US East. Generally 130-160 ping. I don't really notice the difference from US East ping (30-60). S2Games has done a wonderful job on the netcode.

Listen kid, I'd love to go round and round with you, but you can't keep up with my dance. I've tested games you've never heard of. Alpha'd and beta'd so many games I can't even remember them all. I've got a different name in every game and I have a hard time remembering my accounts in some of the games because I'm spending so much time with your girlfriend that I can't play them all. I once trash talked a game in their own forums and the game got CANCELLED. I've got tens of thousands of forum posts and my e-peen is so big the whole internet shifts towards me when I login. You can't hang with this.

You guys think you got it bad? Australians got it bad. 150 ping is the best we generally get, and that's on Japanese servers. Who the hell plays on Japanese servers, besides Pinoys? God damnit I hate it when they talk in their own language. So frustrating.

    Me: Go bot
Pinoy: awa mkat? (I have no idea, I just made it up. I think the awa bit is correct?)

This goes on for a while, until I yell at them on mic, then they swear at me in bad English.
