magebane is very OP, the fact that lifesteal stacks with the orb of mana burn is ridiculous, and not to mention the 5 second cooldown on his teleport ability. please raise the cooldown on his tele to 10 seconds and fix the lifesteal issue.
he has no HP for most of the game, so if you push fast, there is nothing he can do. (i.e. he will get nuked to death the moment he blinks in)
Why do people want to nerf an already been nerfed hero? He is a lot stronger in dota. And do not tell me this game is not dota (many pubs or noobs keep telling me this). HoN is a dota-based game.
He's a terrible hero. Lifesteal stacking with manaburn isn't an issue. Lifesteal is crap on 95% of heroes. I wouldn't even get Lifesteal on Magebane.

Mask of Madness/Elder Parasite together with blink is actually pretty decent on him early on, but like people mentioned, it's far from imbalanced, just an alternative yet potent playstyle in HoN (not in DotA).
You know, low hp + MoM/EP activated + focus on him = dead Magebane
Most scrubs tend to run even while they outnumber him once they see him blink next to themselves with MoM/EP activated... nerf scrub fear, buff having balls?

Until Manaburn gets revamped back to 64 i see no need whatsoever for any kind of nerf, not like he needs one in the first place.
Didn't say it was awesome, just decent if you manage to avoid incoming burst damage while MoM is active with your blink.
The OP mentioned lifesteal and Magebane and I guessed it was MoM since other lifesteal items suck on him.
And it only works in public games, good players will cc and kill you early on with it, that was my point.
Other than that: Lifesteal on him was no big deal in DotA (Vladmirs), so why should it be overpowered in HoN?

Sounds like you just got trashed pretty bad by a Magebane, so you go on the forum and complain. Almost every single nerf threads are born from this situation probably.
Moon is not op with lifesteal/mana burn and so isn't Mage bane. Just because DotA didn't have this feature doesn't automatically make it op. If it was OP, why don't you get off this thread and try that combo, so how well you do. I don't think you will get too far. If it was OP, even a noob like you would be able to do pretty decent.

Agree, he's fragile to spells until level 9+, and doesn't get completely resilient to them until 13/14. Even then, he does NOTHING for fights until he gets really fed, and even then he's still fragile. His animation is dogshit.
Anyone who thinks magebane is op is either retarded, or never played him.
he is often more fragile than the mages he is intended to kill.
I have to agree with the consensus in here, usually when magebane or scout are picked it's pretty much gg, both are very useless team fighters and very rarely are able to carry unless fed extremely badly, which almost never happens.

While I definitely don't think he's overpowered, I have to ask what the people saying he's fragile are smoking. I always max magic armor by lvl 7 if the enemy has any good nukers, and that plus a bracer and his teleport makes him near unkillable early game unless the enemy stacks multiple stuns on him, which basically never happens in pub games. I see him as being very easy to use because of magic armor and blink, and thus dominating a lot of pubs, but he's still probably underpowered in competitive play. Just. Like. Scout.
