    Color's Sigs.

Pretty much decided to just have the ones I like the most.

I think you're problem is that you set your canvas too wide, which results in large amounts of boring patches. Even if you do fill them with something, it justs subtracts attention from the focal point. I almost always use a 400 pixel width, I'm not saying that my size is better, but it is something you should consider changing.

Other than that, you show a lot of potential

Ah ok, next one I'll do a smaller size. I think most of them are 500px wide. Thx for feedback.

Do you know Japanese or is it just a coincidence that there is a large amount of Japanese in your sigs?

A lot of the requests I've fulfilled are of anime I guess. ><
I also like some of the anime shows and movies myself, so maybe that's why I tend to make more of them.

Very cool signatures :O i must start practicing photoshopping so i can make my own signatures :P

Thanks Uuppi. If you follow a few tutorials, it'll help you get more familiar with certain parts of ps. I usually don't use tutorials for my sigs, just wing it. Excluding the Andro sig... combined 2 tutorials for that one.

There are various ways of doing it. I personally do it by making the canvas big, fitting the render in (or whatever is doing the popping out), then just cut off the background. Hard to describe properly >.<

Not to be conceited, but I totally made my muggy sig before I saw a lot of sigs being made with "limbs" popping out of the border. As you can see i'm a big fan of that. Of course I didn't invent it... but I like to think I inspired some other sig makers to "think outside the box" hehe.

I use Photoshop, and I pretty much do what Secron does. If I want a 500 x 200 box, I'll start with a 500 x 500 for example. Then I fit the render in the center, and put a 500x200 solid layer behind it to reference the size I'm aiming for. I make the sig completely before I remove any background, then at the end I use the Marquee (shaped like a box) tool and select the area I want to be transparent. Then when the Marquee tool is where I want it to be, I click on any layer that has content I want removed from that area and delete.

After I do that, I make a solid black layer (since Hon forums use a black background) and put it as my very first layer (all the way at the bottom, so it's behind everything), just to make sure it will look the way I want it to look when posted. Once everything is good, I delete that black layer and save it as a .PNG, which is a web-friendly format that saves transparencies.

    Hope that helps.

Yeah color describes it better. Rather than deleting though I use layer masks, so I don't actually lose anything. That way if I don't like it I can come back and make changes.

On a side note, I always forget to hide the background layer >.<

Nice. Yeah I have a pretty unorthodox way of photoshopping, since I'm pretty much completely self taught. (My school didn't teach me crap!)

If you watch the muggy zephyr sig video, you can actually see what I did. Course it's all fast and not very helpful, but you can see the process.

I'm completely self taught. Well that's if you count tutorials as self.

    Hehe nice. ^5.
I almost never use layer masks or adjustment layers... even though I know they exist. Sucks that I've gotten used to a lot of wrong ways of doing things. =(
