You gotta remember they're not supposed to be looked at up-close. They look pretty great from the normal view. S2 has to try and find a balance between quality, and file size. Which i think they are doing pretty damn great job at.

I love S2 and really like most of their avatars, however their 4 legfed creature designs tend to look quite ugly. Nice pharaoh and DM though
