Hi there. I've got a question.. about creating "sounds mod".
I've already made some (two) sounds mods who works great, but somehow i've trouble making the third one.
i've properly created the sounds mods in the following format:
resourcesxxxx.s2z/heroes/xxxxx/ability_01
resourcesxxxx.s2z/heroes/xxxxx/ability_02
resourcesxxxx.s2z/heroes/xxxxx/ability_03
resourcesxxxx.s2z/heroes/xxxxx/ability_04
resourcesxxxx.s2z/heroes/xxxxx/sounds
I've tried my resources in Practice Mode but nothing happens.
If anyone have some tips, i'll be grateful
Sorry for my English :3
i ran into your problem and was having the exact same symptoms. your compressing method may be the problem. i used winzip and i had to do "send to -> compressed (zipped) folder" rather than "add to xxxxx.zip".
7 zip doesn't create this problem i'm guessing, which is why it is recommended, rather than winzip. i'm guesing.
My windows does not prompt me for a file type change when i paste the zipped file into the Hon Game folder it does change anything just pastes it in there.
Nvm fixed my own problem lol.

I tried replacing the Lobby Christmas music with something else, but whenever I open the game it still has that crap, I suppose I am doing something wrong.
I created the Resources#.s2z, moved the new music folder into it, with the new lobby music, created a .s2z file from it, and moved it to the heroes of newerth game folder as resources#.s2z, but I get nothing.
i cant get this **** to work!!!
I want the panda to go "road house everytime he flurry some1
i follow the guide completely but instead of saying "send to zip folder" i open the Heroes/panda with 7zip and say archive as resources 324.s2z becouse if i just rename it doest change file type..... i can get other ppl sound mods into my game but not my own, and my own file and a file thats works a completely similar!! help plzzz
Anyone know how to play a sound after a specific event? say after runes are spawned (every minute) or after you get a kill?
(I'm more interested in the last part)
That involves some XML. And btw, runes are spawned every 2nd minute, (starting at 0:00, then 2:00, 4:00, etc.) A rune timer mod already exists and it alerts you 15 seconds before it spawns, and BardUI has a rune timer built into the top interface. For it to work after you get a kill, you would need to parse the game chat, because AFAIK there's no event that gets triggered when you kill someone, and that's a little complicated.
er yeah, i misspoke, sorry.
I'll look into the XML bit. Thanks!
If anyone's curious, I plan to add Con Smith's '**** you!' after every kill:

I have a problem: It's not letting me change the file extensions of .rars and .zips
If I go to rename them, I don't see their file extension, and thus I can't make any of my own .s2z files. Any idea how to fix this? The software related to files on my computer are just WinRAR and 7zip.

Because your mods wont work after new patches that way, and replacing game files is a bad idea in general. If you want to make a resource file, right-click on the folder with all your files in it (same file structure as in the resources0.s2z) and go to Send To -> Compressed (zipped) folder, then rename it.
I'm having some really stupid issues with this one, I must be missing something.
In my \game folder, I have a file named resources#.s2z . The directory structure of the s2z file is:
heroes\
deadwood\
ability_04\
sounds\
and it contains the files cast.ogg and impact.ogg. I have tried it with the Windows compressor and WinRAR compressor, but not the one suggested for download just yet. Am I missing a directory in the s2z file or am I supposed to have a folder in \game entitled the same thing as the s2z file?
Thanks!
I think I'm the biggest idiot in the world. I renamed the # to a number. Wow, am I stupid or what? Unless it's not really clearly stated to remove the # in favor of a number. :P
