    What´s wrong with the servers?

    Has anyone of the S2 employees answered this question yet? Without doubt there must be a lot of players whom are pretty tired of these server issues.
    When will this problem get fixed?

    please provide some infomation as to where the issue resides "server issue" doesn't help resolve or identify where hte issue is unfortunetly

    S2 can and do contact the providers they rent from BUT they kind of have to be sure where the issue lies


    So how can you help?
    provide useful infomation such that in combination with other peoples infomation the problem server/s can be shortlisted (if any)




    IDENTIFY SERVER IP
    This is key. you need to find the IP of the server you were playing on


    Once you finish a game in which you were experiencing mini-dc QUIT!
    You have to quit to preserve the console.log, from this you can extract the server IP (note there are other ways to get the serverIP [firewall access et al] but this is the most generic)


    #1 Finish the game
    #2 Quit HoN
    #3 Open the console.log
    #4 search for: "svr_name"





    The two BOLD'ed parts are key
    IP=31.204.128.88
    Name=EU 179.






    #5 Use WinMTR (MTR on linux)
    http://winmtr.net/ WinMTR is a traceroute & ping utility in one (pathping does a similar job on windows)
    PING on its own is all but USELESS Traceroute, while providing a bit more infomation does not provide a trend BUT a instance.


    Doing multiple traceroutes & ping's to each node a map of the connection can be built and this is what WinMTR does. This must run for at least 2min, 5would be good.




    NOTE. depending on where said server is located you may find the final node or two does not actually report any infomation, quite a few places will not respond to ECHO request (protection means)
    Also Some modern routers give a lower priority to ICMP ECHO packets than to other network traffic. Consequently, the reliability of these routers reported by mtr will be significantly lower than the actual reliability of these routers.




    Either way the infomation required is:






    IP
    NAME
    WinMTR Data






    The quality of your ISP may have help mitigate the effect or compound it (ie how much buffering they do - you would be surprise how naughty some isp's are)

    I got 100/100MBit fiber and otherwise my connection works good. I just did an MTR after playing on a server that had some mini dc, although not as much as I've had in other games before.
    Router: ASUS RT-N56U router, also tried with a D-LINK DIR-655 and didn't make a difference.

    I have the same problem, as you said, going on for 2 days. This makes it almost unplayable, and this proves that this is nothing thats wrong on our side. So, S2, please adress this issue and fix it.

    The problem is these numbers are pointing to an intermediate node: netnod-ix-ge-a-sth-1500.i3d.net 50% packet loss... This is still 3 hops away from the actual server so it isn't actually the server it is the net in general (see my sig for present state of the global network).

    However, that node and subsequent nodes do seem to be part of i3d so while s2 maybe renting from i3d hosting service (educated guess) they may be able to ping i3d to look at their general routing.

    more numbers are required. Quoting someone say "I have a similar problem" doesn't help collect info specific to a routing issue

    This problem started a few days ago, I have had absolutely no problems before then, and the game just before this one was fine.. This particular server was horrible, 1-2 sec delay every ~30 secs.

    EU 5 has horrible lag.

    Somehow i just played on USE server and i doesn't feel the lag, could only be with EU then?!

    I just played a game on EU servers and I had around 70ms, but 2sec delay and saw the DC icon popp up several times during the game, it was completely unplayable. I guess it's related to this?

    Got 40/40 mbps net on speedtest.net and the berkley test gave me nothing but OK's (and high latency due to the server being in the US and me in Norway), so I should have no problems at all. So there's deffo something going on somewhere

    Guys please read this before posting, this is the least you could do to help solve your problem

    Had to redo my post so here is the shorter version: I've had mini delays of 1-2sec (when you do a move until your hero responds) in EU servers since the latest patch. Please fix it.

    Does this mean I will have to go through 30 nodes to get to the gaming server!?

    This, I've had this over 1 week now, everyday, first I thought it was temporarily but since it has stayed with the EXACT same lag, like you said, commands come a long time after (disconnect icon appears for a short time).

    ok since people are not actually providing information may I remind you this is not techsupport.
    A supposition was made claiming the servers were having issues, no where near enough information has been provided (yet lots of post) to assist in this, thus this is a tech issue


    You should try and contact the helpdesk located here http://helpdesk.s2games.com for this.
    They will know exactly what to do and how to fix your problem.
