    Lightbulb Bladewing

    Hi everyone! Finally got round to making a new hero draft and hopefully this will be more successful then my others :S

    Bladewing is a hard carry and ganker who is very fragile to begin with but with good farm can own



    ART IS NOT MINE- found this on deviantart, just an idea of how I want him to look

    Ability 1: Hightail (Target Enemy units)

    An enemy unit is targeted for Bladewing to soar to and deal his attack damage plus 25/50/75/100 . Movement speed is increased by 25/50/75/100 while in flight and grants him treewalking, cliffwalking, unitwalking and stun immunity (still susceptible to slow etc.)


    Enemies hit while Bladewing is in flight are dealt 50/100/150/200 magic damage and are stunned for 1 seconds.


    Can be activated again to stop flight.


    Radius: 125
    Range: 750
    Mana cost: 70/90/100/110


    Ability 2: Ruthless (Passive)

    Everytime Bladewing attacks an enemy, he gains 15 attack speed and reduces armour by 0.5/1/1.5/2. Stacks to a maximum of 2/3/4/5 times.

    Ability 3: Razor Talons (Passive)

    Passively adds 5/10/15/20 attack damage, causes attacks to apply a 15% movement slow, and adds "Slashed" effect onto enemy target.


    Slashed: Deals base Agility stats in physical damage over 5 seconds. Physical damage can stack a max of 2/3/4/5 times.

    Ability 4: Burst Gale (Target Ground)

    Bladewing targets a cone area in front of him sends out a gust of air. The gust deals 300/400/500 and knockbacks enemy units 150 units backwards. Bladewing himself is knocked back 100 units. Enemy units are then slowed for 20% for 3 seconds after the knockback.


    Range: 700
    Radius: 100-300 (Similar to Wretched Hag's Bat Blast)
    Mana cost: 150/200/250

    Alright, first off, i would like to tell you that the vectoring on the first skill is very unneccesary. You can just point click a location instead of having to drag your cursor the direction you want, unless of course you want to make it more difficult to use. Also, your ulti has 4 times upgradeable pushback distance instead of 3.

    Hightail: Add how much time it takes to reach the destination. Is it as fast as Magmus or as fast as Cthulus? It is very important to list things like that. Also, 130 mana cost is for me really high, but thats just opinion, not saying that you have to change it, i just disagree with you.

    Wings of Justice: To be honest and fair, scrap that ability. Sorry to say it, but its just straight out bad and completely useless. 30 health for a lasthit? Blood Hunter gets about 200 for doing so and is he strong? He is good at surviving in the lane, but 30 helth is just very weak. And the 40 attack speed bonus is also very weak. Especially with a 3 seconds duration, which is just absurdly low.

    Razor Talons: Does it stack? If yes, say it. Actually, i would like to see it stack indefinately, and last for a longer period, and with every stack increasing the damage over time taken. Of course it should still dissipate after maybe 5 seconds, meaning if you attack the enemy once and the timer starts ticking, then applying another one after 2.5 seconds, then after 2.5 seconds again the first stack goes away, but not the recently applied one. Maybe add a tapering slow instead of static.

    Burst Gale: Now hold up a second and let me pick up my hat here. I hope you know what 1000 units are? Thats almostly the same as a Magebane blink with max range. Thats not good. You dont want to help your enemy fleeing. And why should he push himself back? Creating a 1.2k unit gap between yourself and an enemy is just not what you want to do if youre a melee carry with little gap closing. Also, the damage is ridiculous. Thats like a pyro ult to everyone.

    And take your time finding some icons for the skills, it may not sound like it, but it gives your hero twice the fun to read than it does now.

    Hightail: So I made this simpler a bit:

    A location is targeted for Bladewing to soar to over 4 seconds. Movement speed is increased by 25/50/75/100 while in flight and trees passed through are destroyed.

    Enemies hit while Bladewing is in flight are dealt 50/100/150/200 magic damage and are stunned for 1 seconds.


    Radius: 125
    Range: 750
    Mana cost: 70/90/100/110
    Cooldown: 20/18/16/14
    Lowered mana cost and changed to Target-Ground over 4 seconds.

    Ruthless(Wings of Justice):

    I changed this to something extremely simple but can be very useful> (Also changed the name to Ruthless)

    Everytime Bladewing attacks an enemy, he gains 15 attack speed. Stacks to a maximum of 2/4/6/8 times.

    Razor Talons:

    Slightly changed this skill to make it scale a bit better>

    Passively adds 10/20/30/40 attack damage and adds "Slashed" effect onto enemy target.


    Slashed: Deals 15/30/45/60 + Agility in physical damage over 5 seconds and applies a tapering slow of 10%/15%/20%/25%. Can stack a max of 2/3/4/5 times.

    Burst Gale:

    Changed this so he sends out 3 gusts, each dealing damage. Max damage of 600 damage and max stun of 1.5 seconds (assuming that you are lucky enough to have enemies to get caught in all three gusts.) Took away the knockback and lowered cooldown to 80 sec.

    Bladewing targets a cone area in front of him and channels for 3 seconds. He sends out a gust of air every second (Total of three). Each gust deals 150/175/200 magic damage and stuns enemies for 0.5 seconds.




    Range: 700
    Radius: 100-300 (Similar to Wretched Hag's Bat Blast)
    Mana cost: 150/200/250
    Cooldown: 80 seconds

    Oh i have one more request. It is not needed, but maybe add a stop button to your Hightail? So you can click right next to the hero and still be able to travel full distance, and stop when neccessary.

    And some nice icons can be found here. The icons you have right now dont look so professional which can bend people to the other side saying no to the hero even though they actually like it. Basically your subconciousness tells you that it looks odd with real life pictures. Take your time picking good icons, its a part of drafting a hero and layout.

    WOW these are really good thanks, added some new ones, and added a stop to Hightail btw, what do you think of the hero as a whole? Concept? Moves in general?

    Really solid hard-carry that can do something in the early game. Could be picked up by competitive teams, which always is a good sign. I like him all-in-all

    Hey OpenShadow, How are you bud?

    I had a few questions I was hoping you could enlighten me on.
    Firstly for the description you should skip the “very fragile” cuz it makes me think his skin is a hard as water and will die from anything too many times to get strong for late game


    HighTail:
    to soar to over 4 seconds
    Did you mean the ability is active for 4 seconds? Also you have a 750 range so does mean he ‘leaps into the air’ that far?


    So my understanding is HT is like Valkyries leap without the stats but with damage, stun, and tree walking? I can see that would be good for escape or initiating a fight. Since this is a ‘flying ability’ can he use it to soar over cliffs or at least be able to glide down cliffs but not up? Also can he be attacked while soaring?


    Ruthless: His attack speed at max level can stack up to 140 attack speed which is insanely high (imagine that with mask of death 100% attack speed that’s close to 5 attacks per second), also it’s missing the duration of a stack and at the end of that duration does it lose all stacks or just one?

    How about lowering the attack speed greatly but also adding “for every 2 stacks of ‘attack speed’ he gains 1 armor piercing to his attacks and abilities”


    Razor Talons: Strait damage/stats is a boring skill (thats what items are for!), but you did another effect ‘slashed’ which adds more strait damage and his agility as damage. Be very careful here as this is extremely overpowered.

    Here is the math: lvl one skill gives you: 10 damage + agility (You didn’t state base stats so I’ll use NHs of 24 with 2.9 per lvl) + 15 damage over 5 seconds that can stack twice. This means lvl 1 first hit does a total of 49 damage and second attack does 64 damage total damage in addition to his regular damage.

    At level 3 when you put a second point into this ability (assuming you bought no agility items) Damage will be 20 passive + 30 DoT + 30 in agility 1st attack. At 3rd stack you are now doing a total of 140 damage per attack not including base attack damage. At 4rth level you are doing a total of 40 passive + 60x5 Dot + 41 Agility + X item agility stats = 381 damage + X item agility stats.

    Additionally, you have a stacking tapering slow. Tapering slow means it starts at the percentage of slow you set and then over a set time the slow is reduced to 0. In your description it sounds like it stacks up to 5 times which means 125% slow, so immobilized indefinitely. I’m guessing you mean a strait tapering 25% slow per attack, but you didn’t say for how long (1 second?) Anything more than 1 second would practically be a permanent slow which is more powerful than frost wolf skull.

    *remember Night Hound agility damage ONLY while behind target, adds 25 / 50 / 75 / 100% of his agility as bonus attack damage. (and that’s the entire ability...nothing else!)


    Ult: Pretty legit ult! If you take me up on the armor pierce for attacks abilities then you could change the damage type to physical damage to potentially deal more damage.

    Over all given you keep your second ability and ulti you do need some sort of way to slow because runners will really limit both abilities.

    Ok, so Hightail is basically very similar to Draconis' Blazing flight but instead of him being able to fly freely, he has to fly to a target location, up to 750 range. So basically a mixture of blazing flight and Dampeer's Vampiric flight. And over 4 seconds was for the previous version, doesn't work with this one :S so:

    Basically a controlled Blazing flight

    Ruthless: Changed the numbers to these and added the armour reduction on here:

    Razor Talons: Yeh, I guess I got the numbers a bit muddled up this is the updated version, tell me what you think :

    Burst Gale: Yep I knew that was wrong but thats the only option that fit on Dream :S
