how to bind keys

i see many players use binds to report misses runes etc, how to make such a thing?

They are probably using a mod that automatically calls it/they click a button, but you bind keys in the console

You probably see people use one of the following:
- BardUI
- QuickCommands

However to manually bind a command or in this case a message:
1) Bring up the console (Ctrl + F)
2) Type in: "Bind <Key> TeamChat <Your Message Here>"
- Example would be: Bind 1 TeamChat Top Missing!
- If you use letters for Keybind, it must be capitals
- To use colors:

Q: How do I type in color in-game?

A: You use ^XXX where the Xs are three numbers representing Red, Green and Blue ranging from 0 to 9.

For example ^900 would be red, ^090 would be green and ^009 would be blue.
You can also use ^r ^b ^c ^y ^m ^v ^w

3) Close console (Ctrl + F)
4) Press your hotkey!!!

Just as the title says, I need to bind some numpad keys (tried "numpad2" to no avail.) and I also need to unbind some of the ones I'm not using any more.

you need to have NUMPAD in uppercase. If you want to remove binds, you'll need to remove them in startup.cfg (in your my documents folder, there should be a app data (or similar name) with a heroes of newerth folder, and inside that game folder, is where the startup.cfg should be.)
