    same to me T_T
I used to play RTS and FPS games only
later the best gamer I know personally , suggested me to play hon
I can't remember being offended and insulted in any RTS or FPS game + some concepts are opposite ( the camper in FPS is a Ganker in hon )
at least not at this lvl insult ,

ppl just scream like if they are getting flayed or fried alive
if i die first , they blame me for every bad thing happens
if I'm low in hp & mana and they die > I become the reason
if some one dies in top lane and i'm in bot " F*** you accursed , why no help ? playing solo ?" and then vote kick me
if I played good and we are about to win < suddenly a teammate vote kick me !!!! and it passes cuz I was making troubles for enemies
if I play bad , no one kicks his food

    why ?
simply because you have mmr and kdr , so every one can see how bad you are
srysly I can't feel that ppl are having fun , they take the game too serious
only rare cases of cool ppl in mids

I ended up posing the same questions in the Epoch clan channel and got some good responses. Even made a friend on the way. I'm hoping that kinda thing continues. So, would it be beneficial to just put my head down and start grinding games? I find the experience is something that has to be gained, and not read about. I hate the thought of ruining the game for others, but it would only be a temporary thing. If it works like SC2, anyways.

Arachna mid, /ic x 4, win game. Repeat.

  5. #25
type /ic enter /ic enter /ic enter /ic enter before every game. you'll thank me later.

i still don't get it how you people play with /ic.i mean even if you have idiots in your team maybe after you get a few kills or win a teamfight they realise you will win the game for them and start playing with you.not to mention you may have 1 idiot, but what about the other 3?maybe those other 3 are not idiots?

    1) Yes, the community is quite annoying and mostly acts like 4 year old kids.
    2) I'm pretty sure there is an option built in that turns censoring on.
    3) A suggestion: As soon as a person flames, berates, annoys you, etc. - simply ignore them. Literally. There is a function. And a mute button.
3a) You can try that other suggestion, be nice and apologize for your bad play/ask for help. If that doesn't work go back to 3.
    4) When you do run into decent (nice, helpful, non-doughbag types), talk to them and try adding them to your friend list. You can always delete them later when they turn out to be a typicaly douchebag.
    5) Never quit anything because other people make you feel bad, like you don't belong, etc. It's not a good way to go about life, even if in this case it's just a game.

This. Seriously, if you are playing a game in which people are relying on their teammates, they will rage. You gotta except that people will be 'mad' and WILL call mid a noob as soon as they die in the safe lane. Play this game long enough, and you will learn to ignore the kids and focus on your own gameplay.

Speaking of ignoring the kids, this will let you play the most rage free games in HoN.
If you are under the 1600 bracket, 99.99% of chat will not be helpful at all. People will not give you any tips or hints that you cannot pick up yourself if you read this -

in fact, 99% they will only call each other names, threaten to feed, say 'fck' after they die, and other, utterly useless stuff that will only demotivate YOU to play well. Trust me, in this game you are far better ignoring chat completely till you start playing with better players where the teamplay aspect actually matters to a reasonable degree.

You have to understand that at any level you're going to have insecure little nerds that insult you at every turn. I've seen moon meander on stream playing as a smurf being called 'noob' and 'retard' -- he's a high level competitive player. These people are losers. You really have to learn to ignore them and acknowledge them as the real life losers that they are. Take pride in the fact that you're not raging over an relatively insignificant video game match.

Trolls exist at every mmr level, the ones at 1600-1700 do it more on purpose than the lower level ones because they actually have a clue about what is going on, yet they continue to troll, while the lower mmr ones are just idiotic enough that they think they are right when they blatantly aren't. Much more frustrating to be trolled by someone who you know is good enough to realize the situation yet wants to be an idiotic immature kid and troll.

I like how you think 1600-1700 actually know what the **** they are talking about most of the time. It's cute and naive.

(Edit: You're 1600-1700, believe me, it'll take me 5 minutes, 1 minute of checking out your latest game, 1 minute to download a game and fastforward through the picks and 3 minutes to, not only come to the conclusion that you indeed have no ****ing clue what you're talking about but also post about it in this thread.)

On topic: People are cunts, this dosn't happen in HoN exclusively, but it's a lot more apparent for new players seeing how they kind of just get pushed into a rating they don't belong in. So the cunts (other 1500-1600s) rage at this one guy who's supposed to be the same skill-lvl as them, they don't necessarily know that the player at hand is new.

The advice most new players get is to play some public games in order to gain some experience and get used to heroes / items etc. before they play matchmaking (Generally there's no flame in public games).

But in all honesty OP, in the end it's all about how much you enjoy this game, there are friendly clans etc, but you can't isolate yourself from *******s 100%, unfortunately. If you can't take the mindless flame that inevitably will happen, and happens for everyone, you're going to have to play something that isn't a multiplayer game.

Yeah its not the games fault. Internet let you be anonymous and therefor you can be a twatwaffle. That's all there is to it.

It will take a lot of practice, but this game is one of, if not, the most satasfieing game out there

    Don't get mad.

I learned the art of not getting mad by 1 hour meditation a week and playing alot of poker. Meditation will help you stay calm and strengthen your psyche. Playing poker with stakes that are reasonably high in relation to your income will force you to learn how not to get mad.

I'm not sure if this game has it or not. But i heard that Riot implemented a function in their game that allows you to completely block all chat.If that's true then this game needs it. If it doesn't already have it I mean. But yeah the community in this game is terrible. I've played a lot of mmo games in my life. And I have to say that the community here ranks easily within the top 3 worst communities ever. I've always believed that all chat is really not necessary in games like this anyway. It just gives the other team a way of berating you. It's a really stupid function.

Unfortunately RAP doesn't cover up the holes the current MM algorithm has, making the TMM a mandatory procedure to get yourself to the 1600+ MMR haven (no need to argue about this, almost everyone who had climbed this ladder is aware of this condition). Sometimes I find myself considering quitting this game for good due to this unofficial condition, which allows a player to experience several streaks of unbelievably horrible teams with no regard to your choice of "Fairer Matches" only.
And there's no use arguing, ranting or trying to teach them, coz somehow HoN has a thing for attracting hordes of ignorant pricks.
