A tie-in for the match reward system. I thought it might be nice to use the system to reward players for playing with their favorite heroes. This might be a useful way to give newer players access to limited edition avatars like King Cthul and the gold collection, which i've seen a lot of threads talking about.
To ensure these highly prized avatars remain rare and valued, and so as not to devalue for those that already have them the goals or criteria to qualify could be set very high but tracked through the reward system so players can monitor progress toward goals.
So as not to adversely impact S2 revenue generation the avatars wouldn't have to be given free, simply a 'right-to-buy' upon meeting certain criteria. For example,
(i) percentage matches played with character in a specific game mode (>98%)
(ii) total number of matches played above a certain level, so not to reward people creating multiple accounts or brand new players
Additionally, S2 could re-issue some alt avatars or L.E. in different colors as rewards for achieving certain levels of Quad Kills, Annihilation's or Immortals.
In short; challenging lifetime stretch achievements. This will allow players a sense of prestige, reward people for playing more, give players aims and a reason to hone their skills with their favorite characters.
thumb up.
The sense of prestige, unlockable "shop items", use heroes skill ( could be implemented by achievement ) are all great idea.
There is a mechanic based on level, but all new games has this a more complex experience mechanics like prestige + achievements.
Nice idea!
I think that s2 has it in plans from beggining ... anyone ask why 2 icons?![]()
Interesting suggestion, to say the least. But it would be nice to be able to gain Prestige with supports as well, because you mentioned Quad Kills, Annihilations and Immortals which supports rarely (if ever) get.
