Are the two combined viable? Say i get Axe + Red boots by 15~ and then alch bones with aprox(300-500GPM) in 5 Mins @ 20:00. Would that make it fast enough to go farm for another 10 and get 600GPM+ and then proceed to carry my team? I saw in one of meanders replays 40Min magebane 500+ Ckills 818GPM, he bought it in the same order a wrote. And it seemed to work for him.
Alch bones earlier is almost always better, but I've seen some people do this on some Keeper builds.
The problem with the build order of RAxe -> Alch Bones is that you will farm faster with Alch Bones -> Raxe. Past that, if you get everything pre 20 minutes it's very much worth it. I would only do this in a freefarm lane, or with kills added to almost complete freefarm. With only rank 1 boots, it will be challenging to kill, and escape with most carry heroes. Moonmeander's logic is different than Im goign to go Runed Axe and Alch Bones. He decided to go Runed Axe, and then he had great farm, and expected the enemy team to turtle/ needed to outfarm the enemy carry. With Magebane's high movespeed and mobility, he was able to delay his upgraded boots.
tl;dr: Go alch bones first, get it all pre 25min for best results, only use it in a freefarm lane, rank 1 boots will leave you somewhat vulnerable, but allow you to have a fantastic farm as the game goes on, and Moon had circumstances in which he believed Alch Bones could help him win the game.
Hope this helped
I remember a Chronos going Bones>Cleaver on honcast once, he pulled like 600, 650, something ridiculous like that
Too many Devourer alts and no girl yet?! Help me fix this horrible injustice!! (Moved to archive, I am so sad!)
Why would you get both of those. Never a good idea IMO. The problem with getting both is that you will have ~1k hp (depends on hero) 20 min in. 1000 hp 20 min in will make any ganker (Parasite/pebbles/etc) easily solo kill you over and over and shut down your farm. If you meet an aggressive lineup (Oph, Temp, Balph, etc) you won't have any tools to defend and help your team with. They will have to play 4v5 until 35-40 min when you have caught up in farm.
If your opponents take your easylanes (wich can be achieved easily by 20 mins by any lineup playing 4v5) towers and ward your woods there won't be any place for you to farm. Then they can just proceed to push all towers until their team has such a big advantage that they can just end it.
Not gonna say Alch + Runed Axe is non viable strategy below 1600-1700 though
If you had to room with another gamer, who would it be and why?
Insania; I like to keep my enemies close (I suspect he’s a terrorist).
just be careful though, because a MB with those 2 items will do nothing to stop the enemy pushing, and you would have already spent 7k+ on being useless at the 20 minute mark, as opposed to a build like geos/helm/boots which costs like 7.5k and makes you a monster.
If you have counter-pushers/turtlers and are against a team that can't push too well go for it..
First alchemist bones and runed clever if you wanna get those both. I dont feel it necessary, one of those or none of those are just fine. I remember Dream hack qualifiers where someone picked both on mb and farmed very early 700-800 gpm, but it was against very unskilled team.
Even going one of those will make you easy target for ganks and there arent many heroes who can benefit from that. I feel chronos is the best candidate because he is naturally pretty tanky with good escape, but I still only get runed axe on him. Tdl needs runed as soon as possible so I dont see that viable and mb needs to get tanky very fast so I skip both on mb.
i do this sometimes (both orders) to farm gpm. if u do either against a good team they will put a lot of pressure on you. essentially: if you feel safe and you know the game wont end within the next 25~ minutes, sure go ahead and do this. if you try to do it in all your games though, you will fail. deadwoods and parasites and hags will find you and kill you.
