Kinesis item build, skill build and general strategy discussion

Hey I was wondering what builds are viable for Kinesis?

Does his shield proc codex and harkon's blade?
Is nomes worth it on Kinesis? (I haven't really seen what nomes does.. It seems like one of those items that apparently does something but is very hard to notice).

what are you general strategies with this hero, and what should appear in his core item build?

why are plated greaves his core boots in so many guides? I believe those boots are for pushing heroes. Does that mean Kinesis is considered a pusher? I don't think his spells have any pushing ability.

So much confusion over this hero and his role.

Hi i'm also a noob Kinesis hero and would like to know!

Well i know that Mock doesn't work with his passive, god knows how people farmed a quick mock with Kinesis in the first place.
But anyway, i'm pretty sure Codex works with his barrier. But obviously there are better items right.
I'm also pretty sure Harkons does not boost shield as it is not a spell or item effect. It's an attack modifier. The attack modifier makes all your normal attacks into 'magic damage' however only, 'spell damage' works with his passive believe it or not. Things like Barbed armor, Frostfield plate will also work. Not sure if one of the spells casted by that minion of puzzlebox will work with Kinesis though.

Stats for Nomes Wisdom (2240 gold)

    +50% Mana Regeneration Passive
    +14 Intelligence
    +4 Strength
    +4 Agility
    +6 Damage

    Nome's Wisdom Aura
    Ally Units
    Radius: 800

    • +3 Armor
    • +1 Mana Regeneration

Heroes are healed for 25% of the manacost of abilities or items cast. Toggle abilities only count the initial cost. If the healing exceeds your max health, a shield of equal value is applied for 5 seconds.

Since your spells of lifting trees is quite spammable i guess i synergizes with the passive. Plus the raw stats, easy components, in addition, armor buff to allies is never bad. I'd say it's a decent item.

    Item Build
I'm no expert, but get the usual items like Gravelocket and Power supply or even the new reworked Bloodstone. Due to Kinesis's dynamic skill set you can either go for heavy burst or team oriented support me think. If i were you, i'd get mana regen and support items instead of focusing on damage. His passive got nerfed and shizz man. Items like Portal Key or Tablet is essential because you have no real escape. So items like, Sheep stick, Cyclone, Astrolabe, Hellflower, Frostfield would be appropriate. Magic damage becomes less dominant at late game due to abnormally high armor, hp, magic resistance.

For the choice of boots... I have no idea why Plated would be picked up. Steam boots scale the best and Ghost marcher's ghost walk and extra movement speed is also good for Kinesis. Kinesis has no aoe nuke/effective turtle skill so he's not a good pusher. Maybe the Plated was viable in a mock build?

Yes, Codex procs his shield as far as I know, as well as Thunderclaw, Charged Hammer and Frostfield. Not sure on the Barbed armor.

I like Nome's a lot on Kinesis, it gives him a nice mana pool and makes Kinesis hard to focus down so long as he's casting something because the shield + Nomes buff stack on top of each other. If you can afford better items like Nullstone, Sheep, Hellflower, Frostfield then go for those but if you don't have farm Nome is a very nice pickup to help with your survivability for cheap.

General strategies that I do with this hero: Rush . Portal Key is a beast on Kinesis as it allows you to instantly set up your guaranteed stun on anyone from any position and then proceed to lift up a bunch of sh*t and rape your target.

Assuming you're mid, first get for Rune control and basic mid play as usual. Then work on your boots of choice and some cheap stats ( and maybe , it's always nice for int heroes). From here I'd prefer to pick up a luxury of your choice that helps with your mana pool. There are a lot of good choices ( ) but it's just to have a better mana pool to work with. From there you get whatever is needed, but again I really recommend because it sets up your combo very nicely, and your Q is a very very good setup stun for your team to follow up on. After Portal Key items like or synergize very well with it, so I'd recommend grabbing one of those, but it's up to you.

Plated Greaves are decent on him because it gives Kinesis armor which gives his passive shield more effective health points. I wouldn't say you should always get them on him though, it's just situational. If you feel you need armor then by all means grab Plated, and they also help with pushing mid. But if you feel you don't need them then get whatever boots you want. I personally prefer Ghost Marchers most of the time for great mobility and phase (and can be disassembled for Codex later if I feel like it), Plated if I'm doing an armor stacking build and plan on soaking up some damage for my team, Posthaste if I'm doing REALLY well, or Striders if I'm doing horribly. Rarely Steamboots because I feel Kinesis really needs the mobility from other boots to do well.

In general, play Kinesis as solo mid, he needs the levels pretty badly. He's very good at lane control as he can lift up archers/catapults/ballistas to keep the lane on his side, and/or toss the ranged creeps into the enemy so the archer dies first and also starts firing at the enemy hero if you do it correctly. You can also throw your ranged creeps into enemy tower range so the tower kills it instead of the enemy getting any CS from it.

His role is a semi-farm dependant ganking hero with decent burst early on, transitioning into either a support ganker (run around helping with ganks to support team), pseudo-tanky semi-carry (grab items like to abuse her staying potential), or DPS semi-carry ( ). Think of her being very similar to a Fayde's role, a mid snowball ganker. You gain fast levels mid, then go around ganking and snowballing and then transition into one of the three routes mentioned.

Lastly, don't bother leveling up passive early on.. the single target burst from W and stun from Q maxed are both too valuable to skip. Max Q and W first before E, arguably you can get one point in E early on to negate some damage while doing your combo, but don't max it before your other skills.. Your shield is really ineffective if your other skills are low level because you won't be doing damage anyway. For the most part, a 2/4/0/1 skillbuild by level 7 is what you want to aim for to get the most single-target burst, but maxing Q first can be good if you are more concentrated on using her stun for teamfight support.

    mock doesn't work anymore.

    I don't get why mock shouldn't work

The chance of any kinesis farming a mock in a non casual game is abysmally low.

Pk, tablet, spellshards, nullstone are all decent pickups

it was easy to farm it on rhapsody before the nerf to her dancefloor.kinesis can farm it even easier by getting a few kills, and his attack damage is really high.his 1st skill also does some aoe damage.and mock near creeps and 5 enemy heroes was filling his shield pretty fast so mockinesis got removed.

tip:try mockpsody in midwars and make headdress and heart+armor(ffp).

I've tried to display my view onto Kinesis in this guide, http://www.heroesofnewerth.com/heroe...php?gid=230811. In the guide there is also a link to reddit where I talk more about how I feel about Kinesis being up/okay and a bit more indepth about him. Any feedback to it would be nice. personally I've had success with that build and feel like that kind of is the way to play him. Even though I think the hero lacks some more farming ischy tool to get to the point. But good positioning in teamfights should the build not be impossible to achieve.
If you had to room with another gamer, who would it be and why?
Insania; I like to keep my enemies close (I suspect he’s a terrorist).

your logic towards him farming his mock works for basically any hero
by the time he'd get mock gold he'd also had to have gotten his steams + at least 2 mana regen items, roughly 3-4k easily. Then, in order to get those kills you talk about, he'd have to be roughly lv 12-16 by then, and that's a pretty late mock. his passive only gives 50% of magic damage added to his shield, and his burst combo with q, 4 w and his ult fills his shield anyway. In a teamfight after he's blown all his skills he's pretty useless so he really shouldn't be focused anyways. Kill his teammates, save him for later. Kill is shield and he really doesn't have any hp to tank making him a meh mock carrier anyways.

add in how he's never played much to begin with and it's just another pointless change. it'd be fun to use this tactic in say a no stat but otherwise it's never seen in normal mode gameplay.

^so why did they removed mockinesis if it was so worthless?

I've never understood why folks don't build Kinesis similar to Electrician - as a mana tank. Large pool of regeneration and damage mitigation items. Null Stone, FF Plate, Storm Spirit, Behemoth Heart, Plated Greaves, [Shamans/Barbed/Sac Stone]. Hard to lock down, very hard to kill, with the ability to regen a huge portion of your health anytime mana shield is up. Use scepter to throw yourself into the air if you need some time to regen health and get your toss and stun back.

I think people see his ultimate and think "GANKER! OMG INSTAGIB SUPPORTS HEU HEU" and build him like a hag or pyromancer. I just have never seen him that way.

His ultimate is also excellent for reasons beyond doing large damage to a single target. For example, throwing a whole wave of creeps INTO the team fight so that , , or can follow-up for an extra damage spike. All those creeps can also path block heroes from running/fighting properly. I see most people throwing trees to ensure "maximum" damage. But in certain instances throwing 5 creeps over 7 trees can do more for you.. especially if you move forwarded and pick them up again for a second toss.

because unlike electricial he has no farm ability and has to get his farm solely on ganks. he needs a large amount of farm to get his mana regen up to the level where he can spam his spells and not be oom after a couple casts. his shield also caps, unlike electricians which I think varies on his mana pool.

the only time kinesis gets all this farm is casual mode, it's a total stomp, or its an hour into the game, and by then he should be getting hf/sheep to help negate the opposing teams carry.

maybe because it was making him a walking tank that damages everything?

It was good, but fun way to play the hero. 100shield per second when near 5 enemy heroes was bit too much for them. Building FFP is very viable on him.
