    Update fail with wrong folder

Well I did not see any thread about this issue but... today update seems to be broken, at least for me.

    [Updater] Update failed

I tried 5 times I'd say, and it says always the same thing. I have no "Program Files (x86)" directory, my directory is in italian so its name is "Programmi (x86)"... I don't know why it's trying to update to an non-existing folder...

So I went into my correct path C:\Programmi (x86)\Heroes of Newerth\ and launched from there hon_updater.exe and everything at that point went fine.
Is that a bug... just happened to me... or what else?

It's set to Programmi (x86) (i.e. the correct folder)

ok , just checking the obvious step

is this a fresh install? is this the 1st update you have tried on this install?

right-click the hon shortcut you usually launch from, what is the working directory set to

I formatted my PC some weeks ago, so it's pretty fresh but this has been like the 3rd or 4th update

The directory is set to: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Heroes of Newerth\hon.exe"

That's funny, if I try to set it to "C:\Programmi (x86)\Heroes of Newerth\hon.exe" it says that it's an unvalid path...

i have this same problem. however my computer is in english.
i was thinking it has something to do with program access rights from this part that says "Could not write to target file."
ever since it has updated with that new popup box instead of in game.
i've tried running hon as administrator but that doesnt work.
if i manually extract all the .zip files and manually move all files into their respective positions the update works.

does the pop-out updater thing run as a separate program than hon.exe?
if so, i can try to run the separate program as administrator and see if that works.

    edit:
i ran the old (not updated) hon_update.exe from my hon directory, it did nothing except open up hon, but i tried to update hon again and it ended up working?!?
    idk why it worked haha

I just have a question for you guys with this problem.
Do you get any warnings when trying to put a mod/picture/whatever in your HoN folder? It should be looking like this (in your own language if you're running anything different from the english version):
What I did to fix this problem on one of my other computers was removing the "tick" from the Read-Only box on my HoN folder while also giving "Users" the rights to do everything in that folder (Security settings - see picture below for the steps).
Please give some feedback if it works.

Nope, I don't get anything. It works like any other "normal" folder to me.
