Love the idea simply because of the more uniform Hero selection. Allows for less variation and has a good amount of Heroes that are still good picks and use frequently in competitive play, save a few. (i.e. Ra, Madman, Soulstealer, Soul Reaper) but I wouldn't be mad if newer players learned to master these Heroes (as opposed to one of them picking up a Scout or Blitz).
Also, the meta of Core Pool is bound to be a lot different as there are less of those "bursty" spam-like Heroes like Ellonia, and no big pushers unless you were to build a team with Ophelia, Balph, WildSoul and Defiler. Most of the Heroes are very all-around utility Heroes that seems like any solo queuing 5 random person team could have decent team composition.
But hey, if you don't like it, then don't play it. It's that simple.
you do not want modes for noobs, neither one for pros, what do you want? there are already enough modes for medium-skilled players and they are adding / balancing heroes every now and then.
sharpen your skills - because playing this is like having 70 heroes banned, a little harder than regular allpick.
they are doing a thing for new players. they could as well do nothing and just add a new alt avatar and nobody would care, so "at least" we have a game mode which a lot of players will appreciate. dont hate it because YOU will not play it. nobody makes you to.
OT - i like how there are not heroes like ramp, bh, dw, mart, mk or para... and how only mm and valk have some kind of invisibility (which doesnt need to be countered that much) but ophelia or wildsoul shock me a little. also im wondering why armadon or emerald warden are not there.
anyway, i would like to see some sort of tournament on this mode, just to see how pro players play with such a limited hero pool

All I'm saying is that they just add new functionality to please noob hipster players who joined the game a couple months ago and think their opinion matters.
My point being that, apart from a few new heroes, the game I play today is the same game I played 3 years ago when I bought my account. Same game modes, same items, same map, same shitty community.
So the new game mode specially targeted towards noobs is a little harder than regular all pick. Wow, flawed logic is flawed...
Why is there no penalty for death? And is there if I choose the mode from custom?
Same quetion there. And what is "no penality for death"? no money lost? same as for casual mode? shorter timer?

Amazing stuff, genial idea, finaly S2 guys you did some brainstorm and found a way out of hon's evolution for those that don't want it. For me it's now 100% mode played.
Some people in here don't understand what this mode is about. These heroes will be always the same like in beta august 2009. It's like a retrospection to old times of Hon which were the best ones, besides there is alot more functionality now, after those 3 years.

You can play Normal Mode Core Pool via the Custom Matchmaking interface. Express defaults to Casual.
S2 Games: Dedicated employees serving dedicated gamers. Continuous development. Never-ending improvement.

I don't see your problem. If you don't want to play a 3 year old game and you are done with the community, then why don't you just quit? Seems quite infair too to just ignore the opinion of new player just because they are 'new' ... let me guess? You have bought the game early so you should get extra stuff for free too?
Also there aren't just old heroes.. i've seen midas for instance
keep adding all all these "game mode" makes no sense unless s2 is going to make each game mode have a separate MMR... so why dont u stop adding game modes and fix it so each game mode has their own MMR.. that would be the only smart thing..

It's not a game mode so drastic as casual or normal and, these, have their own rating. You could pick the same heroes in all the picking modes there are, so why bother to have their own rating?
All you people who whine about hon servers being down all the time, remember this: S2 could have shut down all hon servers, stop the updates and so on months ago. PvP games don't always last long, and the company running might get bored of it and say **** it. S2 is still keeping hon up, be happy with that. They are small company so they don't have the resources of say EA or Activision Blizzard. I'm sure that they are working hard to get this stuff fixed, but it takes while with their amount of employees in the engineering department.

because they dont have THEIR OWN RATING... 1 RATING IS SHARED AMONG THEM ALL... AND THEY ARE ALL DIFFERENT MODES... get my drift..? different skills are required for different game modes.. so having same MMR for all is meaningless.. might as well play ALL PICK every time until they fix them all imo.. s2 seriously needs to get different MMR for each mode ASAP..
I'm not a new noob player (I'm noob but not that new lol) but I love the new mode. I don't usually play easy-mode heroes (most-played is Soulstealer - and I'm in the 1400 bracket
I love this new mode. All the easy-mode heroes I hated to go mid against are banned. Emerald Warden, Blood Hunter, MONKEY KING :@ etc.
It makes the game more enjoyable.
I had originally wrote a huge post, just to have it deleted. The jist was this : You open more games modes, but not more servers. You open up a server for australia which has 20m people, But not brazil which has 200 m people. You are so focused on how to make money, perhaps you should focus on your clients, afterall they are the ones who pay you. So I hav ea few issues, 1. Why the hell did u make legacy acct the same as free to play? you now have eliminated the rap system. Players can make 10 accts a day and get banned on all of them. You have increased the amount of trolls. 2. Why is there a game mode for noobs? they cant jsut play ap? theres a huge learning curve to hon, and this rediciulus mode changes nothing. I guarentee that youu will still have glacius' that get shroud and refuse to ward. Why dont you : a) put out deathmath, noobs are deathly scared of randoming, b) make a mode that is setup more like public, even in mmr, you shld be able to kick trolls, people that dont speak your language, and feeders. Dota allowed you to do this. So if 1 guy in his basement can do this why cant hon? You are degrading hon at a rapid pace, Not only do you allow this terrible behaviour you encourage it. Telling players thats its now easier to play hon when it isnt. Allowing the free use of accts, and generally not even banning players. I love hon to death, but s2, you have done nothing but allow noobs, trolls and bullies into the game. PLEASE PLEASE create a mode that allows you to distinguish the (pros, semi) from the casual players
