Just a quick question as I have no clue how to check this.
Situation: Prophet invested in Spell Shards to decrease cool downs and up the magic damage.
I apply Shared fate in a team fight, cast my 1st then 3rd ability on a single target, would the –minus magic armour debuff effect all heroes with in the aoe? Or would the target I’m attacking take the bonus damage and the other heroes take damage as normal?
Spellshards doesn't apply -MA just magic damage penetration, there is no debuff.
So with Spellshards, all Magic Damage sourced from you has the -2/-4/-6 ignore property.
HERE for more details on Spellshards.
The sign of lost Carcosa appeared in the air, paralyzing us with dread older than the very idea of time.
As we looked on in horror, the unholy sign dissolved into a lone figure, shrouded in yellow.
They have nothing to do with each other as Spellshards does not apply a debuff in any way. The only thing it does is check the source of the damage (ie, the unit that has a Spellshards in their inventory) and if it's magic damage, does the magic armor ignore function as indicated in the Spellshards FAQ.
So to answer your question, it applies the magic armor ignore function for all types of magic damage done by the unit that is holding Spellshards.

Look for my highlighted text (important information) and grey text (interesting but not required information).
So not worth the investment.
thought it might increase the damage done through out the aoe, o well
edit: thanks EU and Hubaris for answering much appreciated.
Is the source of extra effect from shared fate the ultimate itself or the hero? If it's the hero, then spellshards should apply for all instances.
I beg to differ, MikeTAR. It's worth the investment imo, that is if I understood ElementUser correctly.
Viability is subjective and therefore not Mechanics really. http://forums.heroesofnewerth.com/sh...ic-Armor-items
That link should be a good place to discuss it. I brought some more mechanics to the discussion on the most recent page.
