Yes, he might be at fault for not being there (exceptions apply, maybe TP on cd, walking towards the team, or counter pushing a low hp tower). But doesn't mean you should engage handicapped. If your entire team is not there, do not initiate. If the enemy initiates on you then it's your fault for poor positioning.
Opinions?
I don't think there's much to discuss here. It's extremely annoying to see your team initiate on bad spot while you're farming, getting 5v4'd and then blame you for not being there. Luckily, after resetting and getting smurf stats, it has been easier for me to tell my team when to do what.
Casual HoN
Except when the enemy 5 is pushing into your base and you have no choice but to hold them from destroying raxes. It's pretty annoying to have one of your allies pushing by him self.
It's interesting in this game how some people deliberately take note of a teammate across the map, and interpret it as a "go" signal to initiate a teamfight knowing that if they lose they can blame it on the teammate.
AS OPPOSED TO
Knowing your odds of winning a teamfight without your whole team are significantly lower.
HoN's about finding a scapegoat. As long as your team of random pubs finds one, there's a strong chance they'll throw the game doing stupid stuff.

In this example, I'm talking retarded. He sees on the mini map they been trending up wards or downwards to your base, and continues to farm or push a tower, they after all of you die, he then proceeds to walk all the way back. Half the time its the carry. Other half its a support that you really could of used.
This happens pretty commonly.
Hey,
Just checked your last replays to confirm what I though > this scenario is in your recent games.
For "who's fault is it", it would be a waste of time to debate on this matter. We can say it's yours (or any guy who goes solo push/farm etc while his team grouping) for not TP and help, or we can say it's these 4 guys who got in a bad position. The real problem imo is that people don't say what they are doing. Like, if you areand you go push a lane, you need to say "I'm pushing top, stay behind tower/in base and wait me". A lot of people would just check your inventory and see a
and think "ok mb has a
, we can fight cause he will tp anyway".
I dont think this situation happens that offent if you talk to your team. Even BR/Rus would understand if you say "BBBBBBBBBB" and ping 5 times in base.
Cheerz
Stop harassing Scout who's farming 400 GPM while everyone is running around the map like headless chickens.
Let him farm in peace, don't over feed but harass the enemy. He will come and 2 hit them then you push and it's all over.
Don't rage at Scout at lvl 2 because you decided to tower dive and assumed he will bust out his 9999 burst damage.
Since OP is correct thought I'd add this as an example.
Of course this is normal mode.
When they're pubtrainin ur towers down, let ur hard carry push/farm one lane, a solo (like bubbles or hag) pressure another.
While you nuke the creepwave down where they're pubtraining with long ranged spells (aluna,Glacius,Behemoth etc).
Usually works great if they're doing that, if you cant do that, you just need to make your team mate join you, it will be his fault if you asked him but he ignores it.
If it's to far into the game, where they have a behemoth, magmus or tempest with a portal key, you deffinitely need that fifth person.
It's one thing if you're defending a tower or trying to turn around a dive, but some people like to push or even just go sniff enemy jungle with 3-4 when there's 5 miss and not even wards up nearby, god forbid somebody is trying to finish an item or two so they're actually worth having around. No, you have to follow us around whenever we say, so that we can yell at you for having crap farm, instead of just spam pinging on your head and crying about no teamplay....
I find the time for counter pushing is often a limited window that can only be capitilised upon if the whole team reacts.
This moment is often ruined by a carry/jungler that doesnt realise that taking that tower might be pivotable to the whole game but the opportunity comes and goes and hes still sitting there farming for an extra 2-300gpm where that time would have been better spent doing that final push to finish.
More often than not, the opportunity gets squandered, the enemy team has a better hard carry that not afraid to help his team and earning more ganking in a 5v4 situation than the team with the eternal jungler.
To many games are lost to the simple fact that the carry spent so much time farming that the game was well and truly finished before they are ready to join their team mates (who by now are sick and tired of losing every fight 4v5 for 45mins and are ready to CC anyway, regardless of the 400gpm jungler that keeps voting NO to the cc vote). Ive seen so many games with No votes, and then seeing rax go down within 3minutes of the vote (AND STILL THE JUNGLER IS VOTING NO!).
If you cant win fights with 4v5 dont fight them, just slow their push while your carry farms. This assumes your carry is competent. As long as you still have rax, you havent lost anything invaluable from their push. If the other team is running as 5, they arent getting any farm unless you GIVE it to them.
Mojo? Is dat you?
OT: I also hate it when someone has a whinge at me because they lost a 4v5 teamfight and blame me for not being there. HOWEVER! it's only acceptable to do this if you really couldn't have made the difference. Ie: you should have been at the teamfight if you are:
The farmed carry
Have a reliable or AOE stun and your teamates dont
Can't get at least one of their towers out of it (more if your team dies or loses a tower/rax)<-- can't emphasise this enough. The only reason they are teamfighting is because they want a tower/rax so unless you can get something equal in return... not worth the rage from your team
Despite what they would have you believe, HoN forum-goers are indeed just a vocal minority, <1700 mmr and more susceptible to confirmation bias than most normal human beings...
