Actually I just think it's a matter of opinion. If you liked source, you'd probably like this too. I just feel that the guns, recoils, models and hit detection is awkward and wrong. Maybe i'm just too much a fanboy of pre source cs

i like how they still have the guy pull the slide back even if the mag ejected isnt empty. silly things like that are ok for a game from 2001. not for something in 2012. looks exactly like cs only with a graphical update. pretty meh.
that was the intention. Counterstrike isn't about immersion or graphics. Its about blowing off the other guys head. Regardless this is one of the few games with a map maker. An counterstrike source has a huge community for map making.
Faster Gamemode for those who are interested.

I think that was pretty much the point of this game :P To update it graphically and have matchmaking systems etc
So why buy this? Dota 2 did it to have its own engine separate from wc3. What's the excuse here?

More Gamemodes (only added this because I think that some of them are rated with the elo system)
A mix of players from counterstrike 1.6 an source.
Also new weapons an balancing on the old ones
An the game cost 13.45. It cost less than going out for dinner.
Basically if you enjoyed source then this is a good purchase. If you didn't enjoy source then you won't enjoy this game.

This update warrants 13.45$. The game has better graphics. Correct me if I am wrong but to upgrade the graphics from source to go they had to recreate every map an add in new textures.(maby not recreate. I am guessing they can get the basic polygons of all the maps an add on new textures to the polygons since they are using the same engine.) They changed maps to make for a more interesting "meta game". They added a ELO system so you don't have to have a clan to get a fair match. They tweaked the weapons an added in new ones. I fail to see how this is not worth the money.
You might as well say the same thing for every sequel ever created in the fps genre. Battlefield 3 is just battlefield 2 with less feactures. Halo 3 is just an huge improvement of halo 2. Street Fighter X Tekken is just um... nvm.
I think that anyone who still plays CSS actively now will be able to agree that this is well worth the money. If they did an update like this for Quake 3 I would pay 50$.
If anything valve is being generous. When this game was announced I thought that I was going to atleast have to pay 20-30$.
Nobody got Dota 2 because its a seperate engine from warcraft 3. They got Dota 2 because it is an updated engine from warcraft 3. Hell valve an icefrog didn't even try to take away most of the limitation imposed with the warcraft 3 engine. There is so many things they could of tweaked an made so much cooler with a new engine but at the end of the day we got good ol original dota.

the valve source engine is just ****, ill never forgive the releases of CS source or DoD source and CS GO is just CS Source 2.0
