Wildsoul, how in earth are you building him? Confused.

    Hello!

Im so confused right now, almost as mush as when I think of Ophelia. But that's another story.

I could use some help in how to build Wildsoul. Some say, gear Bobo with mock etc and get yourself a vestment and boots. While others is telling me to get just boots on Bobo and go nuts on yourself with whatever you want.

So i'm just wondering if I could get some tips and tricks how to play a proper wildsoul so I can be useful for my team. I' really appreciate it!

    Thank you for answers!

Just all personal preference my friend, you can get mock and red boots on boboo whilst tanking yourself up a bit, or you can go full out on yourself.

It's usually better to get gear on the bear as you don't want to put urself in a poor position to output damage, and that's exactly what you can do if you buy a mock on the bear and send him in to do all the damage for you whilst keeping ur hero at safe distance. Ofcourse it has it's disadvantages, you need to chose items that are not stat dependant - NOT items such as wingbow - to do damage seeing as ur bear doesn't have any stats. The type of items that do increase his damage are those that give direct damage - i.e. mock, savage mace.

If you build on ur hero, a majority of the carries do a better job because they usually have something that they're very good at whilst wildsouls hero doesn't really have that ability. My recomendation is that you stack items on the bear and watch him tear teamfights apart.

    doesn't wingbow give agility?

I usually go mock*ghost marchers on bear
steamboots,shrunken/idol, abyssal skull, basher wingbow on hero
The hero is so fat i feel is like a waste to not send him in fights, tbh squishier carries don't avoid trading hits so ws should at least do a decent work.
But i would listen to insania myself

I go Mock + Redboots on the bear then potentially go into a Bulwark (to completely shred towers). That said, Wildsoul farms ridiculously hard and also pushes ridiculously hard.

I wonder how it got into some peoples' heads that the ultimate isn't worth skilling at all.

It honestly depends on the other team I'd say, and if they are going to let you farm or if they come gank. In most cases, you'd generally go mock on bear, and then start gearing your own hero up. Maybe get a sols and then daemonic depending on how your farm is. Then you'd want to start getting carry items on your hero, since in ult form you already have decent survivability.

I just started playing him too, and it is quite weird.

What I'm noticing is that he's terrible when it comes to damage. I'm ALWAYS outdamaged by the other carries on my team. It seems that Booboo's passive stun and damage vs towers is the most useful aspect of Wildsoul. Also, his transformation seems to favor a more tankier build. I'm going to start building him just like a tank and fulfill the roll of a pusher rather than try to be a DPS because it just isn't working. Why spend the entire game farming for DPS when you can just build tank items and take out towers extremely early?

don't forget about how easy you can kong with him at lvl 1 or later.and indeed a daemonic(not sure if on bear or yourself) makes wonders.not o mention the -armor affects towers.

Try blink on the hero after mock, boots and maybe a bulwark on the bear.
    Blink in, call booboo, rape!

E: and build the booboo like many ppl already said.

also learn when to send booboo in, especially when you have a lot of items on him. nothing more useless than a wildsoul who has mock and daemonic on his bear who just died, and has to wait 160 seconds before he can call it back.

Starting items are your preference. I usually just get red boots on both WS and Booboo because I think his active buff gives them enough AS/MS early on. I get either greaves or steamboots on WS depending on the situation later in the game and just leave the bear with red boots. If I really feel like it's going to help I get certain boots for him, they both run fast as hell anyway once you max his W. Then I just go straight for frostwolf on WS then mock on Booboo, after that it's whatever I want. I usually don't buy any survival items for WS because I just usually sick the bear on whoever is after me, micro around him so the bear is always attacking, then safely attack from a distance when he's snared. It works like 90% of the time for me. And if I feel like I'm in danger from a gank or something I stay in the bear form and always keep Booboo near me.

I don't play wildsoul much, but I do watch competitive games and casts. This is how pros build him imo early-mid game. Ofc wildsoul builds vary wildly across games:

On hero: 1. Striders and 2. Mystic Vestments. The hero is already super tanky. Tralfamadore in one of the Honcast DH OSC series mentions how putting striders on the hero makes him reach Haste speed (522 ms) fairly quickly helping him roam jungles and farm. In addiition, the mystic vestments is a cheap 400g item that just complements his inbuilt tankiness by providing him with some much-needed magic armor.

On bear: 1. Mock of Brilliance and 2. Ghost Marchers are core. No other boots are as good on the bear. Ghost Marchers allow for unitwalking and gives you more control on the bear, leading to some nice entangle procs.

After these items, feel free to upgrade your bear and hero with any items you see fit for the game you're playing. Good luck.

You forgot to mention fill up your hero with minor totems.

basher on bear, frostwolf on ws gg game won
Ok. So if you leave a game, you are sent an AIDS needle. Additionally, you get +1 disconnect AND are forced to play as Kongor next game. You can't leave his lair, except when a rune spawns. You must run directly to the rune (still as Kongor) and guard it. If you do not do this, then HoN immediately shuts down and formats your hard drive and injects you with the AIDS needle.

most of ppl picking ws play him with alchi => mock, building pet and tank mod, and fail. I 'd rather recommend to play him with his range attack with real carry gear (shieldbreaker and so) since "wild" make him like a machin gun. Moreover i think the only interest of booboo is that faking root, so nothing else but simple boot and attack speed is needed on him

Ok, Imma let out some secrets on wildsoul.

Don't rush mock, it's a faster mock if you get alch bones first, and I'm not even kidding.

Start with shield only on bear, and rush alch bones. The reason for this is that you usually get alch bones when you are around lvl 6, and if you get to use it once you're about lvl 7, with 3-0-4. This is where you send booboo to base, and head to stack the ancients with wildsoul to stack. Kill the doublestack outside the spawnbox, and get the third ancient spawn as well (you will prob have to re-summon your bear first time, which is why you get booboo back to base to reg because he's usually low around this point with 2-3 resummons if you clear stacks correctly, so everything times nicely.) Once done, go back to the jungle and use the alch bones until you have bear off cd. Do the same thing again, and you should now almost have your mock.

This gives a mock around the 15-16th minute, about the same time you would have had it if you rushed it, except that you now also have alch bones on booboo -> booboo is now a monster and you prob wont have to farm anymore.

Steamboots>ghost marchers on bear, he's permahasted with max lvl wild anyway so it's better to give hime more attackspeed. Once mock is done, go red boots x2 -> ring of the teacher (wild spamming) -> steamboots on bear -> prefered boots on ws -> whatever you need.

And yes, ofc you get the items on the bear, the bear has a built in token, is permanently hasted and can proc a 5 sec immobilize that goes through magic immunity. Sounds pretty damn stronk to me.

Booboo does not gain anything from stats. Going steamboost is just waste of gold because you lose the +10 stats. Also ghostmarchers primary use is not for the speed. Its used for unitwalking and +24 dmg.
