After some minutes of thinking i realised that was a great change. Not going to buy DOTA 2 anyway. I am a HoN player, and i will always be. Can you give us wretched hottie?

I'm a legacy player and I don't really care, I actually like it :P I just don't know...if S2 do this kind of improvement, they will need other ways to get money, and I just hope they do a smart choice.

This will actually benefit Legacy players (and I'm not talking about the avatar and extra coins). This change will make HON competitive long into the future. S2 now has an exceptionally strong pull to attract new players and grow the player base. More players = faster, accurate matchmaking.
With this new direction your $30 investment will continue to provide quality entertainment for many years to come.

This is really quite awesome. Even as a legacy player, I don't feel like my investment was wasted. I never paid for bonus content so much as to support the development of a great game, and I hope others continue to do the same.
I am also wondering (fingers crossed!) if we will see the return of the 250 gold Randoming bonus in All Pick Mode?

With all the changes to the model of this game, allota people complain..
The usual, I spent $30, now why does everone get for free
now I spent $30 now everone has an even playing feild for free...
little to they realise.. All of these moves have encreased the lifespan of HoN, without these, hon would die off, and their $30 would no longer have any reward as the game would be dead.. Through opening up the game they are allowing your $30 to continue to be fun and fun and fun for more years to come, so their making your $30 last longer without even chargin ya like they do in CoD for $20 as a map pack

Well - bad. I payed like 2k coins for NORMAL heroes. Now ill get skin that would normaly cost 390. I did spend a lot of silvers also, thanks.
Now I see purchasing gold coins is bad move.
You just slapped your company in face, not me. Cuz' I did like the skins and now I will not take anything since there is no way that in the future you will not make this game truly free with all things for free.
I am a legacy player and I +10/10 this change. I feel this outclasses LoL as well by having a full free hero pool and bringing it up to par with DotA 2. THAT is amazing.

Why people mad? You had access to content for 2+ years and have been able to watch a small independent company grow and evolve and learn. You were able to sit by them in the beta, then after release and watch the company make mistakes and mature. You've seen apologies, hero releases, staff come and go, new content, surprising content, game changing mechanics, and lots of transparency for a company. Its an experience that my F2P players will never get to enjoy. Where else can you find a game like this where you can see the hard work and dedication these people have put into it daily; and physically see the value of their work?
Now they get to send their game out to many more people, the way its supposed to be played and you're mad? You truly haven't learned anything from these past 2 years of being a Legacy player, shame on you.

The sign of lost Carcosa appeared in the air, paralyzing us with dread older than the very idea of time.
As we looked on in horror, the unholy sign dissolved into a lone figure, shrouded in yellow.
We got a golden castle for money, F2P got a stone castle for free and we were like, meh what ever. And now they get the golden castle for free aswell and that's what bugging me.
We're going to see a lot of posts like this so I just want to say it now:
*with all due respect* how stupid of a post is this lol, you've been playing the game for at least a year for only 30, let me repeat THIRTY dollars! and for some reason you feel entitled to EVERYTHING that s2 has made because of it? They've just made every hero free and yes some people may never spend money again but you've been playing for a long time for only THIRTY dollars! To you and all those like you, before you post something so blatantly (sorry to say it) stupid just think first. I'm a legacy player as well and to think others like me would feel entitled to everything for buying the game is pretty sad.
ON TOPIC: Great move S2, a lot of people didn't like the F2P BUT I hope like many others that it doesn't stunt your growth financially. You like every other business needs to make money somehow and this does take away one stream of cashflow. Hope it all works out though and I can continue to play for years to come

Really you paid 30$ and mind you it was 2-3 years ago. I'm PRETTY sure after few years you still whine about that fcking 30$? Let me tell you this why the heck did you even buy this game when your just gonna whine about changes that this company made. Mind you creating a game is not all about fun its BUSINESS they have competitors let's do have a scenario. So we have 3 games and 1 game offers free heroes + cosmetics and other offers ai bots + heroes + cosmetics and the other offers limited hero pool + cosmetics now mind you to keep this game alive you need to compete with other games and if no one plays your game it will die. Don't fcking cry about that 30$ you already have fun with your legacy accounts 2-3 years ago forget about it. + didn't you guys read you are going to be refunded for the heroes you bought even with that you guys still whine ? Now i don't know about how fcking poor are you or just too damn lazy to work and just whine but let me tell you this you guys are much worse than the freeloaders here on HON.

IMO its not going to change much, except more smurfs stomping 1500-1700.
I have no access to statistics or anything but I havent seen a single account that was registered in 2012 by a completely new player-especially one that played over a month before going inactive.
To drag in more players S2 would need to do HUGE marketing with ads that say completely free etc etc
