Wanted to start a new up to date thread on alternative item recipes. If you know any please post (not sure how many are out there or if they still exist). Please test in game before posting to make sure they still work. So far I only know 2.
Steamboots - Marchers, gloves, apprentice robes/fleetfoot (makes for easy outpost)
Shaman's Headress - Vestments, Helm of the Victim, Lifetube (as oppose to 2 trinkets)
Any others? With research these seem like the only ones so far, carried over from DOTA.
Is helm still doable with two trinkets instead of lifetube?
I don't know if that were ever true but it surely isn't now, since if it was you'd never see e.g. lego players using a lifetube since double trinket is 175g less. As for other variations, you used to be able to build SotM with any two of the three +10 stat items back when it needed a recipe, but that's no longer the case either since it now requires all 3 and no pattern.
The only reasoning behind using a lifetube over trinkets to make shamans is if you're planning getting shamans a bit later, for whatever reason. You example, you can make a sustainer, and break it up later to make shamans and stormspirit..
Steamboots and headdress are the only two items that could be made with different components, dota just has all 3 +6 stat items in their side shop while hon does not.
too bad you cant buy a platemail and pay 1k to make it a sols, save 100g lulz

no .
These are the only two as far as I know. You used to be able to make a helm with two trinkets but they've changed that.
