Anyone else noticed how fast is alt-tabbing back to game with new patch?

We'll be hotfixing this today. It's an experimental feature that isn't finished yet. It'll still be available as a CVAR, in case people want to run with it. Once we patch, I'll reply with the CVAR name so people can still use it (if they aren't afraid of crashes/hangs/blackscreens/computers-on-fire).

It was always an instant alt-tab for me with Exclusive Mode off.

dunno about patch, but alt-tab was always instant without exclusive mode, same as switching between windows, no delay whatsoever ....

Btw, this is not about turning of exclusive mode. It's instant for everyone if you have EM turned off. This is about the regular alt-tabbing

So like, I checked the max operating temperature of my GPU and it's 104 C. That's hotter than boiling water. And I think the i7 2600k can go up to like 105 C if not somewhere in the 90's which is already insane because my chip is supposed to cap off at 62 C but I've taken it to 70 C playing Bad Company 2 on linux through wine. Got into argument with AMD where they were convinced I was overclocking while I haven't overclocked even once.

Right you are. It's now a CVAR called d3d_modeExNew that's defaulted to false and doesn't save normally. If you wanted to enable it, you'd need to use the SetSave console command. No more info on it right now, I don't want anyone to think it's supported.

Just one big warning - it's totally unsupported currently. If something goes wrong with it, you may need to reinstall. It is not an official feature of the game yet.
