Anyone else noticed how fast is alt-tabbing back to game with new patch?

I don't see any directx re-loading of resources (don't know exactly what was happening before) when tabbing in at console, so they seemed to change something.
Getting back into the game is instant now, not even windows programs show up that fast :P

I've been asking a lot of people if there was any optimization involved in the latest patch, but everyone says no, but yeah, that's amazing, I alt-tab at least once a minute so that just made my life 10 times easier

i actually realized this myself, i was amazed at how fast it alt tabs now(i also realized it doesn't lag the **** out my pc when i close hon now, thus being able to reconnect faster when either hon crashes (which is rare) or i needed to restart hon to deal with some lag issues)

(on a side note too i noticed we have a noshield, blue shield, purple shield, green shield, gold shield and silver shield one after another, cmon caaaan we get a pink now)

This, switching between HoN and/or anything else is no different. It also stays animated in previews and when switching tasks, translucent windows retain their translucency when they overlap, etc. Any performance loss incurred by this is marginal to non-existant when hon is running full-screen.

If you turn that 'dedicated mode' or whatever it is in settings, HoN can basically run on the desktop My skype alerts pop up while I'm in game

We'll be hotfixing this today. It's an experimental feature that isn't finished yet. It'll still be available as a CVAR, in case people want to run with it. Once we patch, I'll reply with the CVAR name so people can still use it (if they aren't afraid of crashes/hangs/blackscreens/computers-on-fire).

dunno about patch, but alt-tab was always instant without exclusive mode, same as switching between windows, no delay whatsoever ....

Yeah, the magic that happens here is I get 15 less FPS, which is half of what I normally get. No thank you
