Adding an option to report malicious kicking

i) so if the player in question picks glacius/dsham/pr/monarch/empath/nymph/vj/rhap/etc and doesn't ward, they shouldn't be kicked for not supporting? i 1000000% disagree. if you pick a support hero, play a support. if you don't want to support, pick something else. kids should be punished for picking support and thinking they have to get big beefy items instead of buying wards for the team.

ii) after you've had so many games, you can't really be considered a "noob". ex : i've got about 1400 games played. if i start playing poorly, i'd expect to be kicked. there's no reason for me to be in the game if i'm going to be doing a crap job. and tbh, if i'm playing poorly, i'm probably not enjoying the game anyway and i'd rather be 9 man kicked than have to put up with the rest of the game.

i) Actually no. If the player picks glacius/dshaman/pr/monarch/empath/nymph/vj/rhap etc. That means he/she wanted to play those heroes. It does not mean he/she should be supporting the team. With your logic, I'd say all the int/support heroes will have 90% usage rate reduced because now when you play those int heroes, you are forced to 'support' unless u want to get kicked. If you wanted a support that badly, pick one yourself and support. Expecting others to support and getting mad is just as bad as expecting carries to always win the game and getting mad when they don't.

ii) Again this is wrong. First of all, define "noob". Because the word noob in HoN is extremely vague. 1800er players will call 1700ers noobs, 1700ers will call 1600ers noob and 1600ers will call anyone who's not 'supporting' them noobs. So vote kicking because they're playing poorly or they're noob is unacceptable.

Can you guys handle it? Especially in the first few months. Look how long it took for the community to understand that warding well isn't against the rules anymore when about to lose. Good luck anyways.

I just got 9-man votekicked. I think this has happened twice before in HoN to me. I was playing legionnaire, and we had no teamfight, but our rampage thought that since he was going to be charging someone, I should magically fairy wink my ass to exactly the spot he was charging. Because I have the Movespeed and can TP to the opposing teams tower, but chose NOT to(/sarcasm), he called a votekick. Since the rest of my team thought like he did,(I have the ms to keep up with a charging ramp at 522/ the ability to port to opposing teams towers), they passed. I had been kicking the **** out of all the opposing teams heroes, and they OBVIOUSLY upvoted that ****. 9/10 players wanted me gone. 5 to help them get a win, 4 because I happened to be orange, and since Rampage died, it was obviously my ****ing fault.

Please give me the ability to report this guy..

Lego got blamed for something rampages fault, against the spirit of the game. Rampage thought Lego was bad, but actually Rampage was the bad one at judging gamestate, making injustice. For justice the bad player deserves a ban to deter this from happening to players like lego again.

S2 im rly done of being queued with 4 guys who queue together and kick ppl 4 stupid reasons, my last match as blitz y just got kicked because one player of the other side left, and they wanted a 4v4 match. Im sriously getting done of this, ill w8 a bit or ill just go to another moba game. thanks.

The only downside to being kicked by 9 is that you no longer have influence on the game. You get literally everything else.

A big problem for me though is that a large segment of the community thinks that 9 vote kicks will give you a leave and / or take away coins--they will then delay a clearly lost game for as long as possible in efforts to finally kick someone for retribution, when they're really doing them a favor to get into another game earlier.

Found this thread after I filled out a RAP ticket for being vote kicked maliciously.

Frankly, I am suprised that anyone is arguing to keep malicious vote kicking off the reportable items list.

What I have read so far to support this (and the reason I disagree):

-I don't want bad people on my team, so I want to kick them (play with 5 friends if you need to control the skill level in your team. HoN is for fun, when you go to DreamHack start worrying about how good your teammates are)

-GM's will have more tickets to work through (what you are really saying is that it's a big problem so let's ignore it, too much work to fix... players have to use silver coins to report abuse, I am okay with waiting another 24hrs for a ticket response if it means I don't have to worry about being kicked for no reason)

For any S2 employees still reading this thread, please enlighten me. I see that you would have to work some things out to turn it on.

Ban the vote initator or all 9? - Ban the team mates, simple enough. It is their responsibility to vote responsibly. The enemy team could be mislead to vote for a kick.

Honestly, I would just like to vent my frustration with this... HoN alternates between being my favorite game (of all time) and my least favorite game. It all comes down to the community. A community that is largely unmoderated. When I sit down to play a game and win-or-lose have some enjoyable people matched with me on my team (or heck, enjoyable people on the enemy team) I love this game.

Then I have a game like the last one I reported, being told what I had to pick at the character screen, then being told before the 5 sec countdown that I would be kicked for my choice, spam harrassed in chat, kicked from the game a few minutes in, harrassed more by whispers, lose mmr (when I could have had a chance to win the game), and to top it all off I get 25 silver removed and receive a reporting infraction...

Tell me again why this shouldn't be reportable.

You are arguing that a recreational game is not for fun and that by me mentioning that it is a game open for all to enjoy, that I MUST be a griefer or troll?
Go read my whole post, you have the time to do so if you read the first half. I make no mention of griefing or going codex lvl 5, etc. I actually list the latest scenario where I saw the vote kick system abused. (and no I didn't pick Scout/NH/etc.)

No change is needed to this policy, in my opinion. I have been votekicked once over the course of over 1k games (and this from a midwars public game a year ago), so it clearly has something to do with people having a bad attitude. If nine people want a game without the tenth player, they should have the option to do so without the fear of getting banned.

Considering you lose nothing from being votekicked (not MMR at least, and who cares about win/loss in the long run?), it requires no moderation even if the kick is made out of pure grief.

To expand on this:

Pros:

• Will reduce the amount of "unfair" votekicks

Cons:

• The criterias for what would be considered an unfair votekick would have to be very, very strict, and as such, I have a feeling there will be MANY incorrect reports. (Considering it's already close to 50% when dealing with rather self-explanatory rules)
• Fear of voting the way you want
• Will undoubtedly cause a lot of complaints from both victims and perpetrators, since I don't see many reports passing or not passing without someone being very upset about it, due to the unclear nature this rule would have.

I would also argue that such a rule can be compared to the rule that you may refuse to concede facing inevitable defeat as long as you are playing, alongside the one saying that you may, no matter what, unpause or vote down a pause/remake vote. The essence of those rules are the fact that you should never be punished for voting the way you want, if you're not doing it to hold your team hostage.

I was just carrying my team on Flint when retarded team decided I'm a kill stealer for getting 3 kills auto attacking with my 320 auto attack damage. The enemy team of course agrees because I'm the one doing all damage.

I get leaver %. I have now to play 12 non MM games to reduce leaver % and lost MMR too. The noobs lost match after kicking me I wonder why haha.


Why do I bother solo MM. I miss my 1.7k mmr where there are no retards. I fell in hell hole and cannot get out solo. Its so fun having 2 vs 5 matches.

I am a 100% straight support player. I know that all of you boys want to be Batman and no one wants to be Robin so I figured I'd wear the yellow cape for you. I have about 8.5 wards per game so I will always pick a support (except for midwars). The issue is that if I pick a support and I see that someone else picks a support, I will still expect them to buy at least 1 ward or upgrade the courier or something. I highly doubt that the usage rates would go down if you were forced to play support because I'd assume that 95% of the people who pick those heroes know what their role is. You can't tell me that you wouldn't yell at a parasite/oph/etc if they went to the lane. Those heroes are made for the jungle and smart people will pick around a jungle hero (like pick a hero to solo the short lane). The heroes that I previously mentioned are made for supporting (some are more ward-botchy than others like glacius for example).

i literally think everyone in this thread is crazy. I've played about 1400 games and never seen someone be kicked unfairly. when I'm queuing with 3 friends, we will occasionally kick the pub if he doesn't deserve the win (ex: we all have positive K : D ratios and he's sitting on a 0-8 valk and hasn't landed any big arrows or used his ult at any big moments and has garbage farm...something like that). Even when I'm trolling to the point of wanting to be kicked, I still don't get kicked. I've been anywhere from 1400 mmr - 1700 mmr so I've played in all of the lower/middle brackets. Even the kick votes that don't pass are deserved because the person is feeding or afk or something.

no you don't. The only thing that happens if you get 9 man vote kicked is you will get a loss instead of a win. Your leaver % is unaffected. You will gain/lose mmr normally (like if you get kicked and your team wins, you still gain the mmr but you will have a loss instead of a win). You will, however, get a leave and lose double mmr if you get kicked for being AFK or if you leave the game and are fully disconnected.

I just checked your stats (d4bidden) and watched your last 3 matches because it appeared that you had been kicked from all of them. I discovered your specific problem. You have this habit of trash talking your entire team about how its their fault that you aren't "1.8k mmr" (please just say 1800) and then you go afk and get AFK kicked, not 9 man kicked. Your situations don't apply to this because you're chosing to grief your team by not playing. That's the real reason that you aren't 1800, you go afk in games and lose double mmr. *that and your shoddy attitude*

I won a game for some kids and they kicked me, didnt get a leave but it felt wrong because without me they surely would not win, can i report the person who started the vote or something or have S2 staff send him a warning, cause i am not sure if i can lose MMR if i get kicked after clearly contributing to the victory (not afk kick) or get a leave %.

The game was practically over, we had their mid rax and maybe one more destroyed and it was 5v4 because 1 guy left at the end/or was also kicked.

So you will literally lose nothing.
Now you get a loss count instead of win. MMR is gained as usual.

Also you will get less experience on your account if you are kicked - counts as loss! See no one ever thought of this!

You do not get a leaver infraction if you are kicked from a 9 player vote.

We're also changing the code so that you also get the win if you are kicked and your team goes on to win without you. No ETA as of yet, but it is being actively worked on.
